The first thing that must be considered is whether self driving cars are actually safe. The definition of safe is used loosely here; this can mean that they gets in less accidents than our current cars, or that they are completely foolproof. While testing its autodrive mode, it slammed into an oncoming truck. The driver died, proving that even though they can drive themselves, they aren't going to get rid of accidents. If these cars slide on ice, what’s going to save them? There isn’t any self-driving technology that can save them when control is lost. Technology and less work for us? Sign me up! Everything everyone says about driverless cars are sugarcoated and blunted to greet the public in an appealing manner. I don’t like the way we have become blind followers behind machines. We have become a society run on technology. Reliant on technology. Dependent on technology. I think this reliance on technology has blinded us from things in the outside world somehow. We don’t think about hackers taking control over our precious technology. We have forgotten how to do things we used to know how to do. Soon we’ll lose the ability to drive, along with millions of other forgotten
