Service and Authenticity
My priorities are to serve patients, peers, and my organization, and most importantly to serve God. It is my conviction that service to patients is demonstrated through unwavering compassion, empathy, understanding, and giving of the self. These behaviors, I concede, are essential to interprofessional team successes and are vital to improving the quality of care and advancing the profession of nursing. Furthermore wholeheartedly sanction that organization’s are served through authentic leaders who engage in open and honest conversations and who exercise integrity and accountability. These actions, I corroborate, build the morale and organizational cohesiveness necessary to achevieve actionable plans, long-term solutions, and organizational objectives. Finally, the last and most important aspect of my leadership philosophy is that of moral responsibility. As a servant leader of Christian faith, I am called to model my life after the world’s most faithful servant, Jesus, who loved the world so unconditionally he willfully gave his life for its salvation. It is therefore my conviction that nurse leaders serve God by modeling all of the aforementioned behaviors, working diligently, upholding the professional standards of nursing, advocating for patients and others, and making morally and ethically sound
