In Today's society, the increase in popularity of videogames just keeps adding to the controversy of the rising violence in teens. Video Games do not cause mass crimes however they may contribute ideas for a crime.“By removing people with a propensity toward violence because they are home playing a game, violent films and video games may work to reduce overall violence levels”,Playing violent video games help gamers release the anger that's built up.it shows that People don't actually chase mass shootings because games,it doesn't show that videogames cause shootings or anything near it. It is found that they played a violent game called “Doom”, in where you have to defend a planet from aliens. Many People have blamed this game for the shooting but there is no proof it did cause the shooting, also there are MILLIONS of other people who have played this game and they have not had a violent outbreak like they did over the years.Eric and Dylan both knew what they were doing before playing this game, the only thing this game probably did was added more of a glorified “psychopath” view where they only played games like this for amusement. In the article called “Violent video games do not cause aggression” written by Lester Haines, shows that the university of Illinois carried out multiple tests regarding the link of video games and the real world aggression, in their results collected from the tests it shows that the violent games “did not cause any substantial increase in said aggression".
