How Long Is A Fish?-Personal Narrative
I wanted to burst into tears, but if I did everyone would think I am even more of a crybaby than I already am. I was wondering why can't everything last forever even if it is a fish?

When coming back from meijer, the grocery store,I was not expecting to see this. Not at all. I knew it would come someday but not this early. It may have not looked like I liked that fish but I sort of secretly did. Sometimes I would just stare at it. Sometimes I felt like talking to it. I never did but sometimes I thought about it.

We started to finish up and we went to the checkout line of meijer.

“Mom can I go to Natalie’s house?” I asked.

She answered with “Sure,why not.”

Natalie was one of my best friends. I have known for seven years so she is really

The fish tank is a symbol of the ebb and flow between good and bad times. The fish’s existence which relies solely on the owner 's hand is predictable only by the constancy of the protagonists’ marriage. When the marriage is stable the aquarium is clean, the fish is well fed and happy “wondrously free, swimming – for all he knew – in Lake Superior… free of desires, needs, and everything else” (218). This clean state represents the favorable parts of life. When the marriage become unstable the opposite happens, the aquarium became a filthy mess, “the water so clotted it had become a substantial mass, a putty within the fish was presumably swimming, or dead” (215). The dirty stage symbolizes the base facets of life; the water is restricted, dark, and full of need. The fish tank is a representation of the ephemeral nature of life and the good and bad times we all face in our own lives.…

I have a deep interest in the ocean and marine life, which was fostered when my family and I moved to the Pacific Coast. This interest grew further after I went on a backstage tour to the aquarium at the Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. Due to this continuous exposure to the ocean and the creatures that live there, I am focusing my education around my interest in marine life. It's for this reason that I’m majoring in Marine Biology with a minor in Chemistry. With this education, my goal is to become an Aquarist, and build my way up to becoming an ocean or aquarium diver. As a diver, I want to have the opportunity to study coral reefs, and create and implement conservation plans. In addition, I want to study sea turtles and ways to conserve their declining…

As a kindergartener, when I grew up I wanted to be a princess, or own a hamster farm, or never really grow up at all. In second grade I developed an obsession with the ocean and what lives in it, specifically sharks. Because of my love of sharks I decided that when I grew up I wanted to be a marine biologist. When I made this decision I never knew what a big part math played in this profession. Math has always been my biggest weakness when it came to my education. I would spend hours trying to understand all the numbers and what to do with them. I know now regardless of my love of the ocean, I would have ended up being miserable having to spend the rest of my life constantly feeling confused and idiotic.…

In the article, Victoria Braithwaite, wrote about whether fish feel pain or not. Victoria explained how fishes are mistreated every day. She questioned whether fish have emotions also, but gave an insight on how it would feel to have a hook pierce through your mouth. The article also questions if all nonhuman animals have feelings. Fish are usually seen as dumb creatures, but they are actually intelligent in their own ways. The significance about the article informs the readers about the emotions and feelings a fish goes through. Some insight I gained from the text is the way we treat fish. The article helped me open my eyes to way I treat fish when I go fishing. Fishes have a brain and emotions like a human does. Some still see fish as just…
