Why do you want to be a social worker seems like an easy answer because I want to help people, but there is so much more that goes into that answer. I want to be a child advocate because I want to be that person speaking up for the child. I want to be able to say what a child is afraid to or does not know how to say. As I said above for much of my life I wanted to become a lawyer. Even though I have never had any personal contact with a social worker, they are not known for coming into people’s lives when everything is going well. I have continually been attracted to helping professions. It was not until college and when I started to volunteer did I fully understand what a social worker did.

I believe the number one reason I am here is my faith in God. I find immense strength and passion in my faith. I have a passion for kids and it’s that passion that fuel’s the flame of pursing this program. I graduated college prepared for the next step in my life which I thought was law school. I had already applied and taken the LSAT, but those plans crashed and burned. I didn’t get accepted to any of the law schools I applied for.
