Many students now are having trouble their academic skills and scores due to distractions.
The first step of the solution can be achieved if school starts later. Students would also have a better start in the morning. Students can study for their tests, have a balanced meal, and most importantly, they will have a good sleep. Many experiments were held about how sleeping can affect students’ daily lives in school. In one of the experiments, it concluded with students who slept more had better academic scores. Furthermore, in personal experiences, students would have better sleeping schedules, if school starts later. Those students would have positive outcomes, such as having better concentration and reduce being fatigue. Additionally, in the opposite situation, if students had a bad sleeping schedules, it can affect their mark. In one of students’ lives, there would be a chance that students can forget to do their homework in the morning. If students have a better sleeping schedule yesterday, this can be prevented since their memory would be improved. If school starts later students can improve their
grades. School environment could be better if we all have better attitude. Sleeping enough could make better attitude. If school starts later, this could help us achieve it. Students, who are teens, only fifteen percent of them are sleeping only eight hours and thirty minutes. Some students would experience their negative attitude if not have enough sleep. One experiment, subjects were only allowed to have four and a half hours of sleep. They were more stressed, angry, sad, and mentally exhausted. When they sleep at an average time, their attitudes were significantly improved. Sleeping can affect our body, especially our attitude. Students can achieve this by starting school later. Students will improve on their cognitive skill if they sleep more. This will help in schools. If school starts later in the morning, they will have more time to sleep. A study “found an association between poor sleep quality and reduced grey matter volume in the Brain’s frontal lobe, which helps control important processes such as a working memory.” If students sleep more, there is a good chance of improving memory, ability to learn more new things, and more. These can be beneficial to school work. People feel refreshed after sleeping. Most people would experience a lot of cognitive abilities have been improved such as perceptual skills and alertness. If schools start later in the morning, a lot of beneficial things would happen. one of them is cognitive skill. It would be very beneficial to school start later. There are 3 reasons why this is a good idea. Students could have better academic skill and mark. Students have better attitudes, thus helping them in school. Students will experience better cognitive skills. It is the parents’, students’, and your decision to whether or not start school later.
