My Accomplishments At The Food Bank
In the past I have seen many people do great things, like fireman or police officers, who risk their lives everyday to save others. An accomplishment means to me something that you think highly of about yourself, or something that you are proud of. One of my accomplishments was when I went to the foodbank to help sort food and be able to supply food for people who need it. I think of this as an accomplishment because it made me feel proud, and happy to help the people who cannot help themselves. When I went to the food bank, I was not risking my life as fireman and police officers do so often, but the little things add up in life. Taking a couple of hours out of my day to help people who are not able to supply for themselves because they are either homeless, or living from paycheck to paycheck, or trying to supply for their family but not being able to. Doing this gave me a sense of pride and confidence, because doing this made me feel good inside, and made me feel that doing this small deed was making someone else’s life that much better. I also felt a sense of delight helping people and taking time out of my day to help people who are living in the harder life, living from …show more content…
It also showed me that there are other people who do good deeds everyday of their lives. There are people out there who are trying to spread the kindness of the world, and the people who ask if a stranger is okay, and the people who try to do good deeds even if they have problems of their own. There are people in this world who have jobs that will help people and, when I am older I want to have one of these jobs. I want to continue to help people even if it is a small deed. When I was at the foodbank it showed me that people dedicate their lives to helping people and those people want to spread kindness and joy to the people who especially need it in their

But most notably, this previous October I was given the privilege to be able to help the Nicaraguan people through a Springfield mission's program named Project HOPE. Through them we built housing, fed the truly neediest of their people, and played and cared for a lot of the little children as well as a large group of orphans. All around we tried to show these people the love of Christ, Christianity being a very important part of my life. The trip really gave me a love for the people there who are in some of the most unfortunate of circumstances and I'd very soon like to go back. A large part of the definition of what the word success means to me, is to be able to help organizations like Project HOPE and actually make a positive difference in the world both financially and in physical…

An accomplishment that I am very proud of and believe is a strong example of my dedication is the following. When I was twelve I trained for and completed a half marathon. I finished with a time of 1:42 and won the eighteen and under age group. My training for this race included running, biking, and weightlifting. Every night, many times by myself and other times with my mother, I would go out and run or workout. I remember going out Christmas Eve for interval training and then rushing home to make sure I did not miss the Christmas Eve service. The next year I completed another half marathon in 1:32 averaging a 7:09 mile pace. Last year I traveled to Florida to run the Disney Half Marathon and completed it in 1:22 averaging a 6:18 mile. Through hard work and dedication I got 45th out of over 22,000 runners in Disney.…

It made me feel appreciative for the things that I do have, like a roof over my head and food on the table every night. I may not have the most expensive jeans, or the newest iPhone, but I have everything that I need, and it was all given to me by someone who works a minimum wage job, and works very hard at it every day so our family can have the things we need. I feel as if growing up and seeing what it is like to live on a minimum wage has made me more of a determined person, it has only made me want to strive and try harder, so I can have better things for my kids than I grew up with. If you are always given everything you could ever want, you don’t ever learn how to appreciate what you…

Just like at the KC hall, I felt that I was making a difference in someone's life, even if it wasn’t directly. I knew that the food that we were stocking would benefit someone even if I wouldn’t get to see it first hand. This day was my favorite service, because it was a bunch of guys that got together to do something good for the community and it was awesome to see how God brought these guys together for a great cause. When I went to St. Mary’s, I didn’t necessarily feel that I was impacting the community in a huge way, but I still felt that without my help, it would have been a difficult event to hold without volunteers. With that in mind, I do feel that I did something to help the overall success of the event.…

The accomplishment I am going to write about is becoming Miss Tree City 2014. Miss Tree City is a local pageant for my community’s fall festival. A recent event in my life where I felt proud was getting enough money to help my parents pay for bills and succeed and pursue "the american dream". I started to work for HoneyBaked Ham part time since I was eligible to work. The paychecks felt great and giving them to my parents was felt better. As my sister and I get ready for college, the money got tight and I did gigs on the side. I did everything from landscaping to repairing phone screens. Felt stressful but, mind over matter right? Thats exactly what my parents thought when they moved overseas to the new world. I felt a huge sense of pleasure as I could see stress lift off their shoulders when I gave them the money This would help me in college because I know I can give myself the extra…

There are many accomplishments in my life of which I am proud, however there are two for which I am especially proud. Those being, having the opportunity to play varsity shortstop in high school, and having good enough grades to be nominated for, and to be admitted into, the National Honor Society. These accomplishments make me proud because they are goals that I was able to set and accomplish for myself. These are successes that not everyone can say that they have achieved.…

The first would be my administrative tasks as a Resident Assistant. I consistently turned in papers, forms, and completed task on time or before the deadline. This also included emailing and updating my supervisor about any resident conflicts or situations that occurred. I feel that this is an accomplishment because I was able to keep the line of communication open to my supervisor and ensured that all information was given in a timely manner. Another accomplishment I achieved over the past semester was being flexible to my other Resident Assistants. There were many times when last minute another Resident Assistant needed to switch duty days or had an emergency situation and I was able to cover for them. For example, during the semester one Resident Assistant needed to go to the hospital last minute and needed someone to cover. Despite it being last minute and on a Friday night, I was able to take the duty day. This is an accomplishment because I felt like I was a vital member of the team and that people could rely on me to step up to the plate when need…

This organization helps cancer patients find needed bone marrow donors. Finding donors are very difficult and finding matches are even more unlikely. This event made me realize how fortunate I was. I began volunteering more regularly with the same organization as well as places such as Food-share and a retirement home with residents who have memory loss. SAM and the retirement home mattered the most to me because I have close relatives who have schizophrenia and have died from cancer. Volunteering with these organizations made me realize how fortunate I was and inspired me to keep striving. This gave me a new perspective on life and I became more optimistic and outgoing. In addition to volunteering, I found a job, I began weightlifting, and I became much more social. In changing the way I think, I learned that life continues and that I still have time to improve myself.…

The hard work, time, and dedication that it took to make it happen paid off. One of my greatest accomplishments that really meant an abundance to me was achieving honor roll throughout my high school years.…
