My father became ill and disabled, and my family and I went from having everything to being limited on various things. That was when it struck to me that without an education one can not have a secure future and that my life would stay the same. So I began to take school seriously and successfully graduated high school with a 3.0 grade point average. I immediately knew teaching was what I wanted to do. Life is different now for my family and I, we moved to a new place, away from family and friends; but I can not let that interfere with my education. I strongly encourage everyone to do the same. My first job in California was tutoring elementary school children; using the experience I gained I hope to find a job quickly. This is a significant goal to me because my parents no longer work and I have to make money to come to school and buy my necessities. a great pleasure to know I have taught a child something new and that I can have a positive impact in their lives. I plan to continue my education; after my Associates degree, I want to transfer to the University of Texas in El Paso and work on my Bachelors degree. Finishing that would be a great accomplishment that would bring lots of joy to my life. I would be the first one in my family to graduate from a university with a degree, but what motivates me the most is that it would be a compensation for my parents. For all they have done for me. When I have my Bachelors degree I hope to find a job teaching. I want to begin teaching elementary school level and then move forward to high school. While working I want to continue to go to college and work on my Master's degree. I understand my goals will be difficult to achieve and that it will bring a lot of obstacles but I hope to run through
