Personal Narrative: My Trip To Michoacan Mexico
Every year around christmas time me and my parents go on a trip to Michoacan Mexico, where i was born. Usually a day before flying out we go to my cousins house in San diego and we hang out for the day. I always get very excited to see them because it only happens one or twice a year. About to years ago when we went to visit them we decided to go to the beach. I was unprepared to go, i remember i was wearing some jeans, a tank and some vans- not the best idea for the beach. Once we got to the beach i wanted to get a picture everywhere because it had a ton of nice views. I then decided i wanted to show them to my friends so i got my phone out to post them on Facebook. Although i failed to post them because there was no signal. My cousin susie offered to give me hotspot …show more content…
We continued to walk through out the beach and then suddenly i see the perfect place to take a picture. It was a cavelike rock with water falling from it. Little did i know the water was not going to be the only thing falling from it. After me and all my cousins get near the little cave they all go into it . i was a little bit scare because there were a ton of little rocks and there was water. I knew i was going to get wet if i went in and i was willing to just to get my picture. As my cousin was handing me her hand to get in the cave i stepped on a rock and realized it had slime. i was scared but procceded to take my picture. Right as i was changing my pose i stared slipping, Just like in the movies i tried to stay up and was trying to keep my balance. It was no success i fell down and everyone was laughing because it was funny how i had fallen. I remember it hurt me so bad, but i got my picture on a cave and on the ground. Besides falling i also got in trouble cause i rueind not only my phone but my cousins. Whenever we go see them we always go back to that moment and laugh about how we're never going to the beach

The trip was quite fun because the mountains we were by were smooth while being very massive in size. The day was sunny at start but sooned became cloudy and grey I was worried that it would rain and we would have to cancel but that wasn’t the case. When we approached the lake it was massive very massive with little waves right behind each other while the smell of the open and the lake were all around me. The lake was beautiful while fish were jumping out into the air and splashed right back into the diamond lake. When I saw this I became so excited and was filled with joy. It was cloudy and breezy but the air around us was warm and soothing like being right by a fire on a breezy day. I quickly setup the equipment and grabbed my fishing rod, acquired the bait and started to fish. While I was fishing my Nina and her husband set up right by the edge of the ramp and me and my sister were set up on the side. The dog was right at the edge and about to fall of the ramp but he just stood there staring into the endless darkness of the lake. As i was enjoying the air I felt a tug on my rod and instantly knew There was a fish at the end, I instantly started to reel in my line a was struggling just a bit, the fish was also struggling and it was determined by who had the most stamina. I reeled in my line and there was a mid to large sized fished on the line and I felt proud that I caught my first fish of the day. After a hour I caught 4 fish and felt proud of myself for actually staying a whole day outside and having fun. We decided to head to the house when it started to rain. When we arrived at the house it was already turning night so we headed in but before we did that my Nina showed me how to gut a fish, even though it was disgusting it was informational. After that the rest of the stay was very relaxing and pleasent and was glad to travel there for half of the…

I came to the United States from Colombia when I was just 3 years old. I was brought into the country of bright opportunities because like every other parent, my mother and father wanted what was best for me. My mother had to give up her dream job in Colombia, which was being an accountant for an essentially important company, in order to facilitate my well-being and open up the doors for my future. As the years progressed, I began to acquire both languages, English and Spanish, but there was a point where I became tongue tied and had to assist in speech therapy. My parents would talk to me in Spanish at home but in school all I would hear was English, my mind was extremely confused to the point that I made my own language by using both tongues in one sentence.…

It was Monday, May 30th, 2011. My family was driving home from a hotel we were staying at in Virginia, after going to Kings Dominion for my birthday day the day before. On the way home, we stopped at a Cracker Barrel for breakfast. During our meal, we got a call from my aunt telling us that my uncle, my mother’s brother, was in the hospital. Only a few days before he had moved back to Guatemala without saying goodbye to me. Once we were back on the road, my mother continued to get phone calls updating us about what was happening down there, as each call came through we all became more and more anxious wait for the answer. Then it came it just wasn't the answer we were hoping for, my mother began pushing on the walls of the car as if they were…

The line sounded rehearsed, as if he had spoken these words multiple times a day for many years. His glossy brown eyes penetrated my startled blue ones for as long as I let them until I turned away. His dirtied innocent face was one that came straight out of a UNICEF commercial, the sort that caught you off guard during a commercial break of your favorite TV show. Wistful faces of impoverished children flick before your eyes as a concerned voice insists that if you donate your unused pocket change every month, you could support the life of this poor boy.…

With my heart beating out of my chest, the only thing I could think of was that I did not want to die in Mexico. It was a warm sunny day as we started our ATV adventure outside of the comforts and security of the resort walls. There were 6 of us and we planned to take turns driving. When it was our turn, we could go anywhere we could get the machine. The rental guy was nice enough to loan us his personal iPod, as the machine had a stereo. The iPod was filled with Mexican music of all sorts. How fitting, we realized. What would a Mexican adventure be without the music?…

At the age of two my parents made the long and devastating journey to bring me and my siblings to the United States from Mexico. They sought for a brighter and better future for us and fought tooth and nail to give us the world they didn’t have growing up. Ever since I had stepped foot on U.S soil I never had the chance to go back. The sacrifices that permitted me to be able to attend school for free and giving me a better head start than I would’ve had if we’d stayed couldn’t mask the effects of the move. I didn’t grow up being enriched by the colorful culture that Mexico has, I missed out on the opportunity to share moments with my family from abroad, and fought the struggle of trying to blend in, in an environment that was so different…

So I was stuck with my parents old ragged Samsung Galaxy S3. The next week we went to Colorado for a family vacation to Keystone Colorado. We went skiing for 6 hours straight and my whole family was tired. When we returned to the condo we ate lunch and the smell of hamburgers and frijoles was in the air. When we were about to leave I had to go to the restroom. “SPLASH!” it heard as my phone dropped in the toilet. I was thinking what will my parents reaction would be this time. My parents ended up madder at me this time but I promised if I got a new phone I would be more responsible.…

One hot summer evening in June, my family and I decided to go on a camping trip to Bluestone State Park. We would be staying in a cabin, out in the middle of the woods in the park, for a whole full week. During this week, my family and I would be doing various things such as hiking, fishing, biking, and spending time on the lake. I had never been this excited to go on a trip with my family. The last place we went, Myrtle Beach, I ended up deathly sick and had to go to the hospital. However, I knew this trip was going to be amazing. The sun was shining, it was not too hot or too cold, and it was not muddy or too dry. My sister, Holly, who is not a big fan on going camping, was actually excited to go, for once, even though she was not over her sickness. We would be leaving around six in the morning and neither one of us could sleep. What in the world was we supposed to do this late at night. It was a little over three hours away, and there are lots of activities to do before we got there.…

We took our boogie-boards into the ocean and rode them like surfboards. I feel off of my boogie-board and landed in the shallow part of the ocean.
