skills.
I had briefly studied some subjects which are related to Social Work whilst perusing a degree in Social and Community Development at University of Northampton.
These included Approaches to Social Issues; this subject gave an insight into causes of homelessness, child abuse and drug and alcohol problems in our society. Other subjects such as Anti Oppressive Practice delved into signs on identifying discrimination and how to avoid being judgemental. Other modules such as Social Policy and Law explained when to apply different policies in tackling various issues. Furthermore, Perspective of Human Behaviour is another module which gave me an insight into various attachment theories such as the attachment theory on children. Lastly under the Child Protection subject, I gained an in-depth knowledge about the legal framework, guidance and policies required by law under Section 17 and 47 of the Children’s Act when assessing a child.
My early studies at the university developed my interest in Social Work and led to my pursuing relevant work experience. Throughout my work experience, my ability to demonstrate personal qualities such as empathy, tolerance and non judgemental attitudes fuelled my interest in perusing my masters in Social Work. In a nutshell, I believe I am ready and willing to develop my skills which can be utilized to support vulnerable people in
