Persuasive Essay-Animal Testing Should Be Banned
Animal Testing Should be Banned
According to the Massachusetts Animals Rights Coalition entitled, “Vivisection: Outdated, Cruel, and Unnecessary” It is estimated that at least 500 million animals suffer in labs throughout the United States. Animals testing is cruel and inhumane and does nothing for the well being of the animal. Also the testing of animals is not very accurate, according to the differences in the genetic makeup between animals and humans. In addition too, there are more alternatives than to test on helpless animals. With all the disadvantages and alternatives out there, animal testing should be banned.
People for animal testing believe experimenting on chimpanzees is helping better health care because they are 98.8 percent genetically the same as humans. Even though this may seem we are basically the same because of the high percentage, we are alike in many ways, yet very different. Animal testers believe experimenting on chimpanzees is efficient because of the similar genetic makeup, and coming from a single common ancestor. This may be true

Harvard Wyss Institute made organs on chips that holds human cells to imitate the physiology of human organs and organ systems. These chips can be used instead of animal testing for drug testing and disease research. Also, these chips have had better results than animal testing has had. Researchers have also developed computer models that simulate human biology and the progression of disease treatments. Studies have also shown that these models can also predict the way drugs will react in the body, which can completely throw out animal testing all together. Lastly, you can get a human's consent to be testing on, but with an animal you cannot. People can volunteer themselves for clinical trials and a method called micro

Animal testing is bad science. Time and time again animal experiments show that it is wasting lives and resources. “Most animal experiments are not relevant to human health. They do not contribute meaningfully to medical advances and many are undertaken simply out of curiosity” (Animal testing). Animals are not like humans. The way an animal reacts to a certain tests, may not be…

Animal Testing is so painful for animals and they don't understand why they're being put through this pain. It is also very inhumane and morally offensive. Animal testing is cruel and an inhumane way to torture animals for mankind's own benefit. There have been millions of animals that have suffered a vicious, painful death in the name of research. Lastly there are alternatives to Animal Testing such as computer modeling, As science continues to transform our world beyond what we know, and technology continues to transform and expand upon what we depend on. Medical research and testing will also transition to embrace and…

Every year in the U.S., over 25 million animals are used in biomedical experimentation, product and cosmetic testing, and science education. If you use the chip that the people made you wouldn’t have to harm any more animal than you need to. Animals are innocent and shouldn’t be treated poorly by having drugs injected into them. This includes—dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, pigs, sheep, monkeys, chimpanzees, and more. Even rats are tested and they are the closest to human DNA. Even though rats are very close to humans, they have many differences. There is my second point why animal testing is pointless.…

Most animal testing is very inaccurate because human beings have different chemistry than animals, some animals are similar to humans but they have gaps that can prevent or make false cures that can do more harm than help that is why animals are given medicine that people are not prescribed. “U.S. Food and Drug Administration found that 92 percent of drugs entering clinical trials following animal testing fail to be approved. Of those approved, half are withdrawn…

Due to advanced technology, scientists have found many new options for testing that avoid animal cruelty. Over the years scientists have found testing on Lab-grown cells and organs to be a great alternative to animal testing. This is commonly used for testing cosmetics and some believe if this method continues to develop, animal testing will eventually decrease in popularity and be seen as unnecessary. Another option is human clinical tests. These tests consist of humans voluntarily trying new drugs, biological products, and medical devices. Although there are risks of the experiment causing harm or injury, keep in mind that these clinical tests are voluntary and us humans have the choice, unlike…

An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the United States fir various types of testing. These animals are used for scientific and commercial testing to develop medical treatments, determine toxicity of medications and chemicals, check the safety of products destined for human use and other biomedical or healthcare purposes. This testing on animals is cruel, inhumane and should be banned. It should be banned because the animals are held and live in inhumane conditions, it is harmful and at times lethal to the animals and there are other research method available that do not require animal testing.…

There are a lot of bad things that happen in this world and Animal Testing is one of them. Doctors,Scientists and other people test on these animals everyday. In my opinion there should be no animal testing at all. It is cruel. Right now there are millions of animals sitting in cold cages waiting for their next painful procedure. The stress, sterility and boredom causes them to develop neurotic behaviors such as, biting themselves and running around in circles. Most of these animals are killed after the testing because there is no possible way for them to live after this has happened. More than 100 million animals suffer this torture. Exact numbers have not been found, in rats, mice, birds, and cold blooded animals take up about 90 percent.…

Many people would agree that animal testing is morally wrong. As animal rights activist Justin Goodman puts it, "Mice are like us in all the ways that matter, so they're used as stand-ins for humans - but the moral significance of those similarities is ignored." Chimpanzees share 99% of their DNA with humans,…

Animals should not be tested on because the testing is like torture. There are too many animals being tested on, especially monkeys, since they are the closest things to humans. According to Newsela, a current event website for kids, “Since 1960, the number of chimpanzees has shrunk. The latest count put the number of chimps in the world at 300,000 to 430,000.” “Registration of a single pesticide requires more than 50 experiments and the use of as many as 12,000 animals.”states the…

Mice are mice, and people are people right? Animal testing should be species specific to ensure an accurate test results. Chimpanzees are immune to AIDS, Hepatitis B and common Malaria, all of which kills millions of humans every single year. So, is it fair to use animals when science proves that have a completely different genetic structure to us humans? A strong example of this is the naked mole rats, which are immune to cancer; the same cancer that kill 46,570 Australians each and every year. How then would these…

Moreover, animals are convenient test subjects since some species have close DNA structures with human beings. Also, I think animals should be used for testing because animals are innumerable, so scientists can perform a large amount of experiments that could have been performed on people, but at a relatively cheaper price, and without endangering any human. However, these tests should be limited to animals that are in abundance, like rats, guinea pigs, cats, and dogs. Endangered animals should not be subject options, so as to not contribute to their extinction.…
