In addition too, there are more alternatives than to test on helpless animals. With all the disadvantages and alternatives out there, animal testing should be banned.
People for animal testing believe experimenting on chimpanzees is helping better health care because they are 98.8 percent genetically the same as humans. Even though this may seem we are basically the same because of the high percentage, we are alike in many ways, yet very different. Animal testers believe experimenting on chimpanzees is efficient because of the similar genetic makeup, and coming from a single common ancestor. This may be true …show more content…
Harvard Wyss Institute made organs on chips that holds human cells to imitate the physiology of human organs and organ systems. These chips can be used instead of animal testing for drug testing and disease research. Also, these chips have had better results than animal testing has had. Researchers have also developed computer models that simulate human biology and the progression of disease treatments. Studies have also shown that these models can also predict the way drugs will react in the body, which can completely throw out animal testing all together. Lastly, you can get a human's consent to be testing on, but with an animal you cannot. People can volunteer themselves for clinical trials and a method called micro
