Persuasive Essay On Open Campus
There is saying, “If you give someone an inch they will take a mile.” This quote is a fantastic way of expressing how many people take advantage of situations where they are given room for flexibility. They may take these sorts of opportunities to benefit themselves by not working hard or complying with the rules. If RMHS had an open campus system allowing for students to leave for lunch, students would no doubt take advantage of the system which would create many problems within the school. An open campus would form the issue of students ditching their classes. Also, an open campus could create many accidents due to how students would be rushing back to their classes in order to make it back on time. Finally, students could use the open campus as an opportunity to participate in unlawful and unhealthy behaviors. An open campus should not be formed since it would take away from classroom learning and could easily be taken advantage of. …show more content…

People would assume they would be coming back at the end of lunch, so there wouldn’t be much inquiry about where the students were going and when they would be returning back for their classes. Many students believe that school is stressful and boring; and so countless students given this kind of chance to escape from the school would take advantage of the open campus by not returning back for class. Many other students may see how others are ditching classes and so feel inclined to ditch too. Students skipping class would be an enormous problem with the open campus system and is a prime example of why an open campus system can easily be taken advantage of and so is not a good

I believe that high schools should have open lunches. Students should be able to leave the school grounds and go to a fast food restaurant, or, if they choose should at least be able to go outside and eat. Students need to have a small break from school during the day, even if they are outside, they still can take their minds off of school work for a while. Students need to have fresh air and adequate sunlight. Fresh air and sunlight is a proven fact to help students in their studies and it also helps the students concentrate more. I understand that the school staff would not like the fact that the students would be able to leave campus without supervision. Are not the students in high school? Should we not have the responsibility to be able…

“So from eating out, we can also learn how to make wise choices.” This would make students prepared for college by enabling them to leave campus and eat what they want. This independence would get kids ready to face the real world. “It provides a semi-sheltered climate to allow students to grow and become responsible.” This would give teens the privilege of not being watched every second of the day. If students disobeyed the rules of when they should be back, they could take away the privilege or give punishment. Throughout high school students don’t have very many opportunities to show how independent they are any letting them leave for lunch would be a perfect way for teens to show teachers they can be trusted and can survive in the real world.I know a lot of high school students who are very shy and keep to themselves. With the ability to leave school during lunch, kids would become more outgoing because there would be many more chances for them to socialize and interact with the real world. “If students have the privilege of off-campus lunch, they will gain more responsibility and more experience on how the real world works.” All kids have a big part in the future of our job…

Due to the financial crisis there have been many changes made to government programs to reduce costs and help with debt. Many of these cuts are happening statewide, in America’s public schools. The first programs that are being cut are the art programs, and the excuse is that the core classes are more important. The argument is that children need to be more focused on test scores in Math, Science, English and History. It is unfair to single out art classes, there should be a more even spread of budget cuts, not just the sole elimination of the arts. There are parents who are indifferent with the arts and they are unfazed by their removal from elementary public schools. What many of these parents do not recognize is that there are actually benefits of the arts that help with core subjects. Some benefits are strengthening problem solving skills, stimulating critical thinking and helping developmental growth. There is also a duel component that shows that there is a direct correlation between SAT test scores and art programs in schools, as well as higher participation and attendance. It has also been shown that the arts can help boost the economy.…

Many students push for open campus lunches for seniors or even juniors. With this they feel it is an opportunity to relive some stress and put the school out of their mind for a little while, as they enjoy good food with friends. Open Campus lunches can also prepare the high schoolers for college as it brings them to manage time wisely, but best of all it gives them the freedom they need, as well as some responsibility “Allowing students an open lunch would give them freedom, and they would be responsible for managing their time effectively”(Catherine Martin 2012). Almost all teenagers love the feeling of…

According to Change.org, 9 out of 10 students say they would eat something else besides lunch food if they had a choice. A variety of food choices outside of school will benefit a student's health. Likewise, teens need the option to go out and take a break from their 8 hour school day. According to a student on Change.org, “refreshing our minds before the next few classes would really help us focus more, being in a happier environment.” Students need a break from slaving in a desk all day, doing school work. Leaving school for lunch gives students some fresh air and time to relax their brain. Leaving school to go get lunch would help students with their physical and mental…

This could be everyday of the week or any two days of the week of their choice. Having off campus lunch would be a good idea because this the time where they could feel that the school can trust them to have off campus lunch. If something goes wrong or the students get out of hand the principal could cut them off from having the off campus lunch. The students would love to have off campus lunch because I know they probably get tired of the school lunch or getting tired of bringing their lunch. I think this would be a good idea for the schools to consider.…

Recently, it was announced that the President is trying to make community college free for all. Most of my friends will be going to community college next year. Some are going there because it was the only option for them to further their education, others because they did not have enough financial help to go to a four-year college. So wouldn’t a free community college have a good impact on them? Supporters of this idea say that it can persuade more people to go to college and get more financial diversity into the community colleges. What they don’t see is the horrible repercussions that those effects will have in the education system that can easily deter people from getting a good education and will instead have hopeful low-income students get a mediocre education.…

Online, physically, or verbally you can be a victim of being bullied. You don’t have to keep things as they are. I would know, because not only was I a victim, I was also a person who stood by and simply watched it happen.…
