Project 3: My Theories Of Nursing Communication

As I have progressed from project two to project three my theory of communication has evolved as composing genres put a new dynamic component in my theory. From project two, my theory of communication was essentially nurses are responsible in all areas of communication, whether it is a change in the audience, constraints that occur, the clarity of their content or any rhetorical situations that happen. Nurses are the main entity within their medical community to provide accurate information and superior communication in the field. With the completion of project three my theory is nearly the same, but new aspects have come into play with the functioning of communication. As I have completed the three genre’s I had to consider who was my audience,
Presently in sociology we are presenting for our final grade about other countries, from the knowledge I have gained due to project three I understand how to meet audience expectations, through a visual power point and presenting information about my county that they expect me to cover. The change in my knowledge also relates to my science courses of anatomy and chemistry. In anatomy we have discussed multiple of times about the communication that nurses undergo within the medical field. Due to my knowledge of nursing communication from project two into project three I understand nursing communication in a different aspect. When my professors’ mention nursing communication, I have the knowledge to truly know what kinds of communication actually occurs in the nursing community and how the communication between patients to nurses and nurses to doctors all connect in successful
I know all the research and understanding of the communication of the nursing community will prove to be helpful as I progress in anatomy. Being able to have an understating of how my major functions will give me an advantage next year in anatomy two and my future nursing classes as we will have to incorporate the communication techniques I research on within our own communication during clinicals. I also believe that what I have learned will also be helpful towards the last project we have coming up. From the drafting and revision process to how communication works in a discourse community to relying your information on what the audience expects will prove to be essential to completing the last project. All that I have learned from this project and the last two projects will help as I wrap up all I have learned from these projects into project four. All the information and techniques I learned in designing to meet my audience’s needs will help me use these newly learned skill into the last project and hopefully in other future projects or
