Robert Clarke Monologue

My head feels like a heavy black cloud. My body feels like one of a new born baby. I can smell the distinctive smell of disease odors around me. I hear the walking of footsteps and the incessant beeps of monitors. I hear the cries of people who lost their loved ones. I notice white lighting enforcing its shine on my face, as I try to remember how to open my eyes. I manage to open them up and I realize I am lying in a hospital in Switzerland. A doctor rushes over to me and calls me by the name Robert Clarke. He examines my face which has a bandage on and says:

“Wie geht es dir?”

“Pardon?” I reply unable to understand him

“Oh sorry, how are you feeling?” he translates looking annoyed at himself for making that mistake

“I am dizzy and can't seem to remember anything…may I ask what happened to me?” I respond

“Indeed, several hours ago you were part of a car crash, and luckily you were brought into the hospital at the right time. You have been diagnosed with brain concussion; your memory could return in hours, days, months, years or never.
I experience unbearable pain on the right side of my head and get a rush of memories. The day we first met. The day we got married. it was the recollection of the memories of my wife. It all began to come back to me; even our recent honeymoon in Switzerland. Where a man had come and in ambush, attacked her with a gold dagger and ran away. That is all I could remember as I returned to the present. I was unable to move in disbelief of what I had seen. It had come back to me. Except for one thing. Who was that man? What did he look like and what did he want from us? One thing was for certain, I must find
