Drivers are not trained to use the autopilot feature of the new self driving cars. Pilots need to go through a lot of training before they can fly a plane. Even though planes have an autopilot feature, they still have to be trained to know what to do if the autopilot ever stopped working. There is really no point to that. A driver who has experience driving and had to take tests and drivers education in order to obtain a drivers license has a better chance of driving the roads safely instead of a car that the driver would have to babysit. Article one states, “Tesla advises drivers to stay alert and keep their hands on the wheel in case they need to take over unexpectedly.” These self driving car companies are advertising that drivers would be able to do other things while driving, but really they would need to make sure that the autopilot feature is not making any mistakes.
