Communication is key in Situational Leadership. I am trying to build my proficiency in this area. With effective communication, I will know who needs which type of leadership at what time. Without effective communication, I may guess wrong as to what is needed when or misread the actions of the students or teachers. I have to be organized so that I can see or understand what needs to be the first priority. I then organize my time and resources in an efficient manner. Through organization and prioritization, I am able to watch for details that may be missed, or deadlines that may go unnoticed. In my current position, I am required to teach a class, grade assignments and tests, write curriculum, collect information, contact possible internships, place students in internships, assist the program director, organize the lab, order supplies, answer emails and phone messages, etc…. If I do not organize my paperwork and prioritize my time, I do not get my duties done. Interruptions and emergencies do happen from time to time, but if I am organized and keep current on projects, then the occasional variation from plans does not negatively affect
