1. An explanation of how to review personal leadership styles, assessing suitability for leadership.
Once promoted as a leader, after demonstrating some skills and attributed required to perform the role effectively, you need to draw upon your personal strengths and development areas and be aware of these. You need to review your current personality attributes as well as leadership competencies in order to decipher which leadership style is the most suitable.
Personal leadership styles can be review by a self-assessment method. The leader needs to draw upon their preferred style of leadership by being questioned of how they would act in certain situation or how they already act in the workplace towards their team and their work. A questionnaire/survey would be the most appropriate way to asses personal leadership styles and allow self-reflection of the leader as to how they currently lead and currently act in situations. They will then be able to draw upon the suitability of their resulting leadership style.
The questionnaire would pose such questions/statements that the leader can relate to form their day to day role (with a leaning towards each of the three classis leadership styles; autocratic, democratic and laissez fair) and the leader would say to what extent they believe this to be true
