The Right Supervisor For Maxwell’s Supplies
George Maxwell is an African American; he started his business 20 years ago. Maxwell’s plumbing supplies has hard working employees and George treats his employees equally. Unfortunately, the supervisor needs to retire and now George has to replace his supervisor, but it is very difficult to find another. That’s one of George’s problems he does not want to face, because hiring someone from the outside field will bring more difficulties to his business. George believes Hector Miranda is the right man for the job since he has proven himself as a hard worker and provides some of the requirements for becoming the supervisor. The purpose of the assignment is to evaluate Hector and decide weather Hector would be the right person. Hector has a few disadvantages that may not get him to become the supervisor of Maxwell’s supplies. Hector needs to improve his English skills, because customers complain about not being able to comprehend what Hector says. Hector will probably need to attend school and improve his English. Hector also has an accent that is very hard to understand and that communication is another one of his problems. Hector has also worked less than the rest of the employees, so hiring Hector may get the other employees a little upset and some might end up leaving their job. Hector also got involved in the controversy with the three woman it all started when the three Filipino women started to speak their native language and two other employees complained that they did not like want the to speak their native language at their presence since they did comprehend, Tagalog. Some employees did get because Hector was going against George’s company. Hector might not have been in this with this plans or he was just added to the cause so that they were not left alone for being Filipino, Hector was not thinking clearly to what he was doing at this time.
