Vet tech is one of the first people one will see upon entering a veterinary clinic. The vet tech will first take the animal’s general information like their weight and vitals. “Veterinary dentistry includes the cleaning, adjustment, filing, extraction, or repair of your pets' teeth and all other aspects of oral health care” (American Veterinary Medical Association, 2017). This job is important to do because if the animals teeth are left uncared for the little problem will escalate into a bigger problem like broken or infected teeth or even tumors. (American Veterinary Medical Association, 2017). Vet techs help owners find the right exercise plan for their furry friends. Every animal is needs a different amount of exercise, so they must be aware of all breeds of dogs and understated their athletic needs. Vet techs will recommend that owners take their dogs on walks once a day. This helps both them and the owner by getting fresh air. (American Humane, 2016). Vet techs are the one in the clinic to recommend the procedure. They recommend this because, “Surgical sterilization not only keeps the animal population at a more sustainable level (resulting in fewer homeless animals), but it also offers many health benefits to its recipients” (VetMatrix, 2017). Neutering can help animals live a longer and healthier lives. Spaying cats can eliminate cry and pacing of heat. Spaying of dogs eliminates the blooded mess of their heat cycle. The neutering of both male dogs and cats will eliminate sexual habits like marking, humping and aggression (AMERICAN HUMANE, 2016). Fixing pets can help prevent them from getting cancer in their reproduction organs. “Spaying helps prevent uterine infections and breast tumors, which are malignant or cancerous in about 50 percent of dogs and 90 percent of cats” (Spay/Neuter, 2017).
