We would all be healthier if we didn’t eat meat or animal based food in a whole.
Some of us have lost someone close or dear to us, or someone we loved, through a medical condition like a heart attack or cancer etc. For me it was my loving grandfather. He died on the early age of 60 with lots of suffering. First he had a massive heart attack and had to get an emergency heart bypass. What no one knew is that he also had cancer, and because of the surgery the cancer was exposed to air and it caused it to rapidly spread to other areas of his body. Eventually it got to his prostate, and after much treatment with chemo, and suffering, he lost the battle and died. I can still remember the daily feasts we use to have in the holidays when visiting them, with all the different meats, with that thick strip of fat with all the small decorative vegetables along the side of the plate. Little did we know that the very festive lifestyle was one of the major causes of his illness, suffering, and death, as a matter of fact, to prevent

This dietary study will define the importance of an organic omnivore diet, which will include a balanced ratio of meat, vegetables, and fish as part of quality food intake. In today’s industrialized food industry, it is very difficult to find good quality food that has not been processed or manipulated in terms of bulk production. More so, animals are treated inhumanely by placing them in cages or brutally killing them in a meatpacking factory. For instance, many ethical concerns about the treatment of animals in these brutal conditions is part of my choice to only eat “free-range” animals that live on small organic farms. Pollan…

Eating meat decreases our ability to have a healthier and longer life, as Perter Singer reasons “Meat is not necessary for good health and longevity” (212). We contribute to a contamination free environment and live healthy life eating meat in reasonable amount. Eating mostly vegetable is more sustainable then eating meat. This is better for nature, as we would not support large meat farms which release methane into the atmosphere. Meat production requires more water, grains and maintenance cost, where as plants like legumes improves the soil quality by adding nitrogen naturally to soil.…

Eating less meat is not going to solve all the problems in the world but it can have a positive impact such as the environment rational. Fraser stated, “If Americans just ate less meat – like driving cars less often – the problem could be alleviated without giving up meat entirely. (698). This approach has worked for centuries and continues to work in America and Europe. The problem isn’t meat, but too much meat. (698). The way we eat meat and how often we eat it can cause a major effect on the environment. The more meat Americans eat, the more animals’…

The average person who lives in America has an omnivorous diet. We eat meat, plants, fruits, everything. The ratio of vegetarians/vegans to omnivorous people is far less. Unless that person is responsible for providing the food, he or she should not worry about what the other person is consuming. What another decides to put in their body will in not affect some else’s body. Which is why everyone should learn the truth about both diets and decide which is better for them.…

A common controversial topic that is debated in many society’s, especially in Europe and North America, is the ethics of consuming meat. There has been a rise in vegetarians, as persuasive journalist and companies such as PETA have introduced their opinion on eating meat and how it is morally wrong. Even with this rise of vegetarians, there is a prediction that the global meat consumption will double by the year of 2020 (Singer). As the need for meat rises, there will be an increase of factory farming, practically an animal torture facility that is a negative contributor to climate change. With the torturing of animals, a negative influence on climate change, and humans having the ability to survive without consuming meat, is it still ethical to consume it? The quick answer is, surprisingly, yes; although, the meat in question has to be different than the factory farmed meat which the majority of Americans consume.…

To produce one pound of beef takes 16 pounds of grains. Growing body parts which are not used for meal and production of energy by cow make 15 pounds expendage. That same pound of beef also requires on average 2,500 gallons (10,570L) of water (Lappe 1999 quoted in Kaza 2005, 390). By contrast, a pound of wheat requires only 60 gallons (254L) of water (Fiddes 1991, 215 quoted in Fox 2000, 165). Furthermore, every year 322 million liters or by another measurement 85 million gallons of waste are produced by farm animals, and most portion by cattle. While, at least 40 kg (88lbs) and 15 kg (33lbs) manure is produced to take a kilogram of esculent beef and pork accordingly (Fox 2000, 165). Also, there are many other consequences of using too much animal products. By growing the population demand for meat and dairy products are increasing. Hence, the risks caused by animals are also increasing. Beside the environmental damage, there are also health benefits of consuming fewer animal products and it protects animal rights and prevents animal cruelty. Also, people who do not eat meat or other animal products tend to not consume or easily can abandon from alcohol, drinks with caffeine and from modified foods (Phillips 2005, 136). Although meat is the national meal of Kazakh people and many think that a meal without meat is not substantial, this essay will show that a vegetarian diet might be useful for people's health and may lead to several positive environmental changes.…
