Why Do Students Get Paid For Their Grades
Should students in high school get paid for their grades? No. Why do students need to get paid for their good grades? In today’s world, money is something that everybody wants, so they can go buy whatever they need. They get their cash and go to the mall after school instead of doing their homework. In my opinion, students should not get paid for their grades because it leads them into trouble and not caring for the subject.

My first main reason is motivation. Students like the cash they get from their parents and then they blow it on something. In the article,”should you bribe your kids to get good grades,” in paragraph 5 Demetria Gallegos says “fake it until you make it”. How she said that it met to me like keep your grades up and cheat off of people so you can get that money. I think it impacts their life focusing on their diplomas and going to college.

Students in school are to graduate, go to college , then graduate from college and start on their own life. Some kids in school just don't care about learning and want to stay home and do nothing. That's where backfire comes in. it reduces their creativity for learning and living life in the future. In the article “should you bribe your kids to get good grades”, experts say “parents are still firm believers in the practice”. My family don't pay me for my grades because they don't have enough spare cash to give me for my grades. I really try hard in school to keep my grades up and not hang around with the wrong people. Most students focus on school and come to school on time and are ready to work. Today's society most kids do not come to school ready for work and have all their supplies because they don't care about school. I think this has a lot to do with kids because it happens in my class and they don't focus enough in school. I'm not saying everybody is terrible in school and their are a lot of kids who are really smart but their are the bad ones

In schools there are many factors that come to play when determining how and what you are learning. Parental involvement helps because it motivates a child to take their work seriously to keep them on their toes, but it is not necessary. Students could go through school by themselves with their own motivation; they believe they could work hard, they believe they will succeed, they believe in the future that lies ahead of them, they believe in themselves, so they will do whatever they can to achieve that, but this is not always the case for every student. Students get or learn the attitude of success and the will of working hard from the atmosphere around them, whether it be constantly positive or constantly negative. Teachers play a big role in a student’s education because that is their job: to teach students, to get them an education.…

College athletes should be paid in order to: help them financially accommodate their expensive lifestyles, give them the money they played hard to earn, and to eliminate unethical recruiting and under the table payments. Considering how hard it is to support yourself while playing sports in college, the millions of dollars universities and the NCAA makes off of you and your teammates, and the unfair advantages in recruiting that some colleges deploy, paying student athletes should be heavily considered by everyone that calls themselves a sports…

This is not a cool thing to do. This is like if you did all the work for someone on a test, but instead of you getting the A, the other person gets the A. See, your probably thinking that is it not fair because it isn’t. An example is of the college football national championship bowl game. The players are the ones that get the winning record and stuff, but by just making it to the bowl game, the school makes on average 7.4 million dollars. That’s not even if you win either. Even the coaches get an average of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars along with their paycheck by just making it to a college sport championship. I mean it wouldn’t hurt to pay the players something like two thousand dollars. On a football team there are about sixty players so that's one hundred twenty thousand dollars. Compared to seven million that's nothing. Sure people might say things like:If you pay college player, they might spend their money on dumb things like liquor and maybe drugs. If you are thinking something like, I assure you that will not happen. I remember my Dad saying that there are no idiots in college. If you do something like that, and they test you for drugs and the test is positive, then you could get suspended or maybe kicked off of the team. This is why you could at least give players a small portion of the school's earnings.…

Student athletes in college should not get paid as much as professionals but a smaller portion would be appreciated. The small portion would help the student athletes a lot with tuition if they have to pay for school. If they don’t have to pay for tuition and have full ride scholarships then it would help them pay for classes and books for those classes. One more thing that that small amount of money the student athletes should be paid would help with is not having to work or have another job off campus or away from the college the student athlete is attending. In the end, there are no question that the colleges should pay their…

Because the average school report card relies mostly on standardized tests, so if they study their report cards can shoot up. Also, depending on the student's grades a teacher’s salary can be raised, and they deserve at least that. Often people say that stress can pull your grade from “A” to “F”, but with the proper sleep and with the lovely teachers to help students all the way, they’ll be fine.…

After doing research and analyzing others opinions, I still believe that student athletes should not be paid on top of getting scholarships from schools. The idea of it may sound great but the negative impacts it brings is not worth it, therefore being a student athlete and getting scholarships should be a big enough incentive to work hard and educate yourself to get a better and high paying job than others. It makes students and athletes work harder for what they want in life. Student athletes lives should stay the way they are today and not be paid on the…

Some people believe they should not be paid because the already receive scholarships to a university which everything is suppose to be payed for. Top colleges athletes already get plenty of benefits, such as scholarships and free tutoring. (Scholastic News 2). However, this is not necessarily always true. Although some universities offer athletic scholarships, they do not pay for all expenses (Time for Kids 3). They are not necessarily getting paid, yes they are getting tuition money for school, rooms, and books, but they are not receiving money to help them if they have an injury, buy clothes, or food. Other people believe college is a place for learning, not earning. If college athletes get paid, they may not be motivated to focus on their schoolwork (Time for Kids 3). Again, this is not necessarily true. Yes, college is a place for learning. But college athletes are focusing and learning for their career they chosen, sports. If they are paid, they will be highly motivated because if they fail their schoolwork, they cannot compete in their sport. Many of the reasons to not pay college athletes are…

Graders and educators seem to emphasize assignments and grading for performance and understanding. The grading system basically labels a student’s image either being a smart/average/”dumb”. Knowing this will run very deep in how a child careers their self around school or when they have to do an assignment. The grading system makes the student more focused on what they can do to get the grade that is Above Standard than actually care about what they’re researching or learning about, this is assessing students and categorizing them basically in groups based on their knowledge and skill in the course. Teachers do try to motivate their students but it doesn’t always work and students begin to chase their grade and become disinterested in the course material. I saw a post the other day on why students cheat on exams to pass and the top reply was this “When students cheat on exams it’s because of our school system values grades more than students…

They shouldn’t pay students because students will only achieve and care about the money, but not their education. From conflicts between parents, students and schools, to lower academic performances, to short term motivation, there are many negative effects of paying students. To begin with, students shouldn’t be paid for getting good grades because of conflicts between parents, teachers and students. For example, quoting “Prairieecothrifter.com” “...including pressure to inflate grades and conflict with students and parents.” This eventually leads to parents and their kids having problems.…

Several schools in the U.S have started programs that pay their students for good grades. So the question is, should all students be paid for making good grades? Many students would most likely agree with this topic, and me being a student I would definitely agree. The reason I believe students should get paid is because we work hard to earn and maintain grades. Students should get paid for making good grades because school is a job, it motivates them to do better in school, and it builds a thirst for knowledge within the student.…

An article called “Should parents pay for good grades?” states:”Many teachers also paying students for grades leads to partial problems in their classroom, including pressure to inflate grades and conflict with the students and parents.”-NEA article claims” This leads to teachers being stressed out over arguments with parents saying their kid deserves more money because the student has a “good enough” grade. Teachers also have stress over making decisions about inflating grades, because they’re scared they’ll get a lot of complaints. The effect of this is parents may also take away their children’s money, which can lead to a lot of strifes.Bullying is also a problem because children can brag about how much money they got to prove they’re smarter than other kids which can let kids down and think they’re not smart enough to earn more money. Summarizing, paying students for satisfying grades is a bad idea because strife can happen in and out the…

Schools should not give into to paying students for their performance. It is understood that in order to keep a school in good academic standings you have to make sure students do well on the standardized test. The test scores not only reflect the school but also represent each student as an individual. So you can see why it is important for students to do well but should that really mean at all cost. For many years teachers have been teaching the material for the long term knowledge now it seems as if they are just beginning to teach just for testing.…
