Why I Want To Be An NHS
I am honored to be considered for NHS, and greatly appreciate your consideration. I would like to be in NHS because it is an honorable society that is viewed positively thought colleges and universities. Also, NHS is the next stepping stone, after NJHS which I was a member of for two years. I would also use NHS as a guide to help get more involved in school and to better the community. I also think that NHS will better me a person and it will enforce me to do more community service. I like to do service work and NHS will make it mandatory for me and reinforce me to more for the society. I have done plenty of community service in the past. I finished NJHS with 44 out-of-school hours of community service, and 37 hours of in-school service, when the requirement was only 10 hours of each. I do community service on my own through Girl Scouts and on my own accord. I enjoy interacting with people and helping the community. I am currently working on a project that I help make quilts for patients in a hospital that are wheelchair bound and will be working on my Girl Scout Gold Award throughout the rest of my high school career, which is the highest honor you can achieve through Girl Scouts.. …show more content…

I am currently enrolled in two weighted classes, and still keep a high gpa. As in leadership, I am very motivated and always willing to help in anyway I can. I feel bad if I can’t help with something, and someone needs

To the staff of the National Honor Society (NHS), I am a candidate, whom you have invited to join your organization, writing to discuss my qualifications. As of right now, I am extremely honored by the fact that the only reason I was considered eligible to join you was because of my grade-point average, which is 3.57, but, I am also aware that the other requirements necessary for me to join NHS include a demonstration of positive traits of character, service, and leadership. Service is one pillar of the national honors society that I believe a lot in. I believe that service presents so many opportunities and is such a meaningful way for one to spend their time. During my years at Barrington High School thus far, I have participated in many service projects including packing school supplies for children in foster care, collecting money at ALS tag days, and working with children with disabilities in a horseback riding rehabilitation program. Every week I was excited to see the progress of the children I worked with as they grew through horseback riding, and I am proud to say I played a part in…

I would be highly honored if I were to be accepted into NHS. When I heard of National Honor Society I knew right away that I wanted to become a part of it. Ever since I was a young child, I remember seeing my friends and family members proudly receive awards and recognitions for their hard work because of this, I too wanted to be like them. I am a very hard-working student and I love to gain knowledge of new things every day, and even though neither of my parents had the privilege to receive an education, I hope to go to college. Most of my family members from my father's side of the family either dropped out or weren’t able to finish school, so I will be the first to finish high school and to attend college.…
