Having not come from a long line of medical professionals I feel that my drive to help others and passion for nursing has motivated me to succeed in my chosen career. During this time, I have also had to deal with the emotional side and had to direct my attention at times away from this being my daughter to how this is benefiting her during early hours blood tests. It has made me appreciate how with nursing there is many highs but also lows and being able to deal with supporting others during low times is as if not more beneficial than during the high times.
While completing my GCSE Maths, English and Science I did a level 1 health and social care course. This gave me the insight into how important after care to service users is and how personal care can benefit in the wellbeing and care I have a keen interest in Makaton and I have taken part in tutorial courses. I would love to expand my knowledge of this as a second and valuable language to have to be able to communicate with people who use Makaton as a first language.
As a mature student I feel my confidence has grown due to many different life experiences. One of them being returning back to college to complete my studies. During my return to education I have had to be very adaptable with five children to care for and a drive to succeed with my chosen carer. I find that the key to my success has to be down to time management as I juggle assignments with travel to after school
