Why Is Animal Testing Bad
An estimated 26 million animals are used every year for scientific and commercial testing (Animal Testing). There are many problems is our world that can make live just a little less happy. Some people don’t even know these problems exist so they go unnoticed and unsolved. Animal testing is a problem involving many animals getting hurt or injured and people don’t know how bad it can get. Animals are put into captivity and environments that hurt them. The problem shows up in many researching labs where they test the animals on different substances and medicines. Many animals are affected by this problem because we use them to test our cosmetics and medicines. This problem has been around since 500 BC and has been going on for decades (Animal Testing). Animal testing is getting worse because more and more animals are being used as test subjects for things that probably won’t even be used by people. Many animals are being tested on everyday. Animals are being tested because researchers believe it is needed for human purposes so we don’t get hurt while using different products but what happens to the animals that get tested on. Researchers aren’t willing to …show more content…
One option could be vitro testing, which involves studying cells in a Petri dish, which helps identify how cells might respond to drugs without using an animal. It doesn’t just keep animals form harm but it also gives more relevant data because the cells used are human instead of animal. The second option is using tiny amounts of the drug on human volunteers. It will be divided into a small enough dosage that it won’t cause the person any harm. It gives a good idea of how the human would react to the drug without subjecting them to risks. The last option is using various computer simulations that would allow us to recreate the effects of the drug without having to involve living creatures (Animal Testing

Animals are being wasted every year by testing them on useless products that are not necessary. In addition, the animals are killed at the end of each test, thus, thousands of animals die with pain. The tests the animals receive are inhumane. “To test rabbits for development of toxicity, a pregnant rabbit is taken and exposed by force feeding, throughout her pregnancy. She is killed on the day she is expected to give birth. Her babies are extracted and evaluated for birth defects” (Cosmetic). These types of testing are morally wrong.…

Animal testing, is also known as animal experiments in the act of using non-human animals in research, to develop projects or scientific experiments. Statistics show that each year, there are millions of animals such as cats, dogs, mice, rats, ferret, hamsters and monkeys that experience mental and physical torture due to scientific research. Although most people agree that animal testing is horrible and cruel, there are few who this is it necessary to find new medicines. During the experiments, the animals are forced to inhale or sallow large amounts of test substances. Which are often found to be poisonous and toxic. The largest concern, is that animals are being used in experiments and not humans. Meaning that the results might or might not be useful for all the humans. Million of animals are suffering from poor conditions of living, and then to…

Animal testing for scientific or commercial use is wrong and inaccurate because animals are made up differently than humans. Animal testing is procedures done on animals for research to test medicine and commercial items to see if they are harmful or effective for humans. The experiments can cause the animals to have physical and mental suffering and distress. Most of the animals are killed at the end of the experimentation but some are used again in other experiments. The most common animals used for the experiments are fish, mice, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, farm animals, hamsters, birds, cats, dogs, and monkeys. More than 115 million animals are used in experiments worldwide. Animals are living beings too, they should get the chance to live…

In animal testing, countless animals are experimented on and then killed after their use. Others are injured and will still live the remainder of their lives in captivity. The unfortunate aspect is that many of these animals received tests for substances that will never actually see approval or public consumption and use. It is this aspect of animal testing that many view as a major negative against the practice, as it seems that the animal died in vain…

There are a lot of bad things that happen in this world and Animal Testing is one of them. Doctors,Scientists and other people test on these animals everyday. In my opinion there should be no animal testing at all. It is cruel. Right now there are millions of animals sitting in cold cages waiting for their next painful procedure. The stress, sterility and boredom causes them to develop neurotic behaviors such as, biting themselves and running around in circles. Most of these animals are killed after the testing because there is no possible way for them to live after this has happened. More than 100 million animals suffer this torture. Exact numbers have not been found, in rats, mice, birds, and cold blooded animals take up about 90 percent.…

In animal testing, countless animals are experimented on and then killed after their use is up. Some are injured and will still live the remainder of their life in captivity. The doctors will not do anything to help the animals that are in pain that happen to be the reason because of them. It is the aspect of animals testing that many view as a major negative against the practice, as it seems that the animal died in vain because no direct benefit to humans occurred. Even though animals and humans have many things in common like how we both have the same organ system, there are also many things that are different between animals and humans. Many animals cannot handle or take the same medication as humans, most the surgeries that are operated on animals are just too strong for an animal to take so they end up dying or sick for the rest of their lives. Last year, over 167 million animals died due to animal research. At this rate, the number of animals that will die this year will be well over 200 million. Animals used in these testing facilities are treated in inhumane and disgusting ways. Dogs are forced to eat pesticides, monkeys have their skulls cracked, mice grow tumors larger than their own bodies, bunnies are blinded, the list of cruelties goes on and on. After having these excruciating and terrifying experiments performed on them, they are usually dumped back into a cramped…

There are alternatives to animal testing. One way is artificial human skin. It produces better results and is safer. It is made from human cells and is grown in test tubes or plastic wells. It gives better results than animal skin. The skin still shows the reaction to the substance and it isn’t harming anyone or anything. It is a better and safer way to test substances.…

Animal testing has always been a dispute between people; some people think it’s morally wrong and some people think it helps with medical and scientific breakthroughs. Drugs that people use or cosmetics that are used could have been tested through animals before being stocked on shelves. About 800 animals are tested on before a drug is passed to clinical trials (“Is animal”). Many animals get tested on, but many like mice, rabbits, hamsters, monkeys, dogs, cats, pigs, and some other animals get tested on. Animals can be used to find new advances in medical treatment and check safety for products, but these animals that get tested on can go through pain and death. Animal testing is wrong and should be stopped because…

Millions of dogs, cats, bunnies, rodents, and so many more other animals are being used for animal testing. These animals are forced to be in labs and are locked up in cages until they die of the drugs that are inserted inside their bodies. Once the researchers say the drugs are safe humans are taking a risk to be severely ill, hospitalize, or even die. Animal testing for medicine is harmful to both humans and animals because the side effects that occur in the animals are different for humans and the drugs that work on animals fail for humans.…

According to PETA 9 out of 10 of every animal test fails and results in the animal perishing. An alternative offered by Lori Carter, Tim Little, and Claire Matthews is that we could simply “look at the structure of the chemical compound or molecule under consideration, run it up against a database of chemicals with known toxological effects, and search for substances with similar chemical structures” instead of killing animals. This is a great idea considering how much information scientists already have. Other alternatives stated by PETA are epidemiological studies, using cadavers, sophisticated high-fidelity human-patient simulators, and computational models. These have the potential to be much more reliable, more precise, less expensive, and more humane alternatives to experiments on…

This is a result of abuse ways animals are dealt with like by their experimenters. Animals ought to be free of the harsh researchers expose them to as they have the same amount of conscious as people do. I think animal testing is a brutality more than science. Animals are not treated well and are mostly mishandled by their handlers. Little animals impart in a small box that estimated to no less than eight other little animals.…

Another major point is that many of these animals who undergo these experiments are affected psychologically, therefore how can we rely on the validity and results of the data. There are many factors that can interfere with the results of these experimentation. An Article written by Marshal Eliot in “Science” reinforced that we already test new drugs on people. If…
