The whole reason for coming to the William Woods Equestrian Program was the fact that it would be the most effective in teaching all the necessary skill needed to be a productive and successful trainer in the equine industry. It seems that this specific strength is the most important in this specific atmosphere or at least the individuals willing to learn get the most out of the classes offered here.
Along the same lines would be listening skills used both in and out of class that seem incredibly important in this environment. Everyone is so busy in the barn that it is rare for an individual to repeat the content of the conversation again given the person has ten other places that they need to be in that moment. Being engaged and listening in a conversation not only sets an overall good impression but it also allows for me to learn more and grow as an equestrian.
But simply because my listening skills are better than most, a lot of the times the simple but important details are missed whether they had been told or untold. Things are forgotten or just never having had to be thought about before. Such as leaving a halter on a cross tie on the ground for a horse to trap their foot in or simple things such as that, that have simply never crossed my mind. All of these little details matter within the horse world because things can go bad so
