As we come into high school, we continue to learn more and more of our great nation’s history. Countless events had led up to what the world is today, such as the civil rights movement, women’s right to vote, 9/11, and Pearl Harbor. Although, there are more influential events on our world. To be specific, Benjamin Franklin. Benjamin Franklin gave us one of the greatest gifts the world has ever received, electricity. “People always fear change. People feared electricity when it was invented, didn't they? People feared coal, they feared gas-powered engines... There will always be ignorance, and ignorance leads to fear. But with time, people will come to accept their silicon masters.” (Bill Gates). The gift of electricity has impacted our nation in several ways, but the main key factors as to why its important is communication, entertainment, and business.
Communication is used everyday in various ways. Some enjoy the common face-to-face conversations, while others prefer texting, talking on cell phones, and using social networking sites. Texting is probably the fastest way to get a message to someone that may not lived in the same area as you. Having that instant messaging available makes people’s lives much easier because they receive a quick response time. That generates a relieve if someone had been hurt or lost. Most teens have adapted to the norm of texting instead of mail or even face-to-face communication since its more user-friendly. However, Email is also a great tool to use to send presentations and projects to one another. You may have not been able to work on it as frequently as you would like to and having a partner can eliminate that stress. One partner may feel like doing all the work and thats where E-mail comes in. It gives you quick and easy access to correct each others work and even add on to your work.
