Workplace Observation Report

I met with Jane who works as a hair stylist in a small chain of hairdressers. Jane was dressed smartly and professionally in her company uniform with name badge as is required of all employees. Jane greeted her first customer of the day politely. She checked her customer against the appointment diary and confirmed the service the customer had come for. When Jane confirmed with her customer that the appointment was for a cut and colour she noticed her customers expression. Jane asked her customer if she still wanted a cut and colour reassuring her customer

Jane said that the common problems are concerning the outcome of colours and as a result new customers always have a colour test which they are shown before any colour treatments are performed. Jane stated that the company has been designing a Facebook page which is monitored for customer comments. Jane stated she felt the company offered good customer service, but for long term customers they could offer a birthday discount service. She felt this would show a more personal service and company loyalty to their customers, she also felt it would help with recommendation traffic, and was going to suggest this in the next meeting.
