do to this day.
By having the chance to attend college, I am being given the opportunity to not only learn more about myself, but discover new passions, bond with new friends, and ultimately prepare myself for a future in which I know I am capable of being better equipped to give back to our world. Continuing onto high education allows for me to have the chance to open many doors to the captivating world of the medical field. Going to college is one of the many steps I must complete on the road of achieving my childhood dream, which is becoming a doctor and making a change in our world.
I am someone who believes that their dreams can come true, that is if you truly work to your best ability to eventually accomplish them one day.
No matter how much blood and tears you endure to achieve that dream, in the long run, it is all worth it since you get to pursue your childhood dream. When I was about seven years old, I was visiting my grandparents and uncle in Ecuador. In that moment I first realized that I wanted to become a doctor. My uncle was a wonderful doctor and he always let me play with his doctor tools. When I first picked up his stethoscope, I felt this life changing sensation and although I was just a little kid, I knew that when I was older, I wanted to become a doctor. Seeing my uncle offer free medications and treatments to those who are ill and truly cannot afford medical expenses was truly inspirational for me. My uncle’s generous tendency to give to those who have nothing shows how you can help others in the simplest ways, and that making money is not as important or as beneficial as helping someone who is extremely ill get better. Witnessing my uncle’s selfless behavior firsthand lead to me aspiring to become a doctor, where I can see the magic of helping others as I had seen it when he helped those in need without expecting anything in
return.
Through my experiences that I have gone through my high school career, they have ultimately molded the person I am today. Responsible, persistent, diligent, and giving are characteristics used to describe me best. Being inspired by those such as my uncle and peers has guided me towards wanting to have the power to help others get better, by being involved in the medical field of the future.
