Put yourself in the shoes of a twenty three year old. They have just graduated with their bachelor's degree. They do not have to worry about school any longer, no longer have to attend classes, or worry about not remembering the answer to a question on an exam. However, their debt in student loans will follow them until they are in their mid fourties. They will not want to eat stably, purchase good clothes. They may miss electricity bills, or struggle to keep a cheap apartment as it is. They will struggle to survive, not to live, all because they need to get all of the debts that they are swimming in, paid as quickly as possible, just so that they can start living their life. While people may believe that this will cost society more money, when it comes to college level education, I believe that all tuition and fees should be covered by the government, all the way to a phd.…

College tuition is a very deliberate topic that will continue to win over students if it is not changed. Not only will students be unable to afford college, but if they go, they will leave with thousands of dollars in debt. The ideal solution to this problem is to decrease college tuition. There are many reasons why this plan would work since other countries have free tuition and there is money that can go towards free tuition. Free college tuition is very achievable so it should begin now and stop increasing. Let’s keep the billions of dollars in debt that we will lose next year if we don’t lower tuition.…

I personally don't believe that college should be free. Making it free would only serve to limit the value of the education while filling colleges with students that have no business/need there. College would become nothing more than a 4 year extension of high school if it were free. As things are now, society needs about 25% of the population to have a college degree for the jobs that require one and about 30% of the population has a degree. As a result, you hear from a lot of people that believe that they wasted time getting the degree because it's not serving them as an employment enhancer.…

When someone says free, nobody assumes money. People consider America, or the right to speak freely without worry, not free college. To brand something that costs so much now as free would be quite a large task. “That’s why I am sending this Congress a bold new plan to lower the cost of community college – to zero”, former President Barrack Obama stated in his speech on free tuition. He states that college can cost nothing to anyone, but free will never be free. Credit is not given, only earned. Increasing the already insatiable amount of taxes that American citizens pay for is just the beginning. Lowering the quality of education received when there are thousands of new students going to institutions just for the reason that it is free. Higher education will be suffering in numerous ways, including: increased quantity of students, reduced salary once a degree is attained, not to mention a higher percentage of scholars dropping out. The first two years of college should not be “free.”…

The same is with college, the amount of money students put into their college education often helps fuel their desire to succeed, helping them push themselves to do better! With tuition free college, the risk factor of failing classes and test goes out the window! The student would be able to theoretically, retake the class over and over until finally they pass. Meanwhile, the school is paying over and over to educate that individual. As the student would be finically unscaved, the college or university would be ones to pay the price!…

For example, it would be exceptional if the government made going to universities cheaper because it would make it easier for a lot students to decide and go to an university instead of a community college. I know that some of my cousins and my brother settled for the community college route not because of their grades or not getting accepted to an university, but because they could not afford to go to an university at that time. Especially, being first generation college students it's harder for the students to convince their parents in paying thousands and thousands of dollars to go to an university. A lot more people would end up going to a CSU or Uc if the tuition was a lot cheaper because even with financial aid it does not cover everything. Especially if the have to live in dorms for their first year as some universities…
