Student organizations and associations aren't just about looking good to a prospective employer. Participation can benefit students as well, both emotionally and socially. You'll find others who share your interests and can explore more of your options on the campus. You might also gain insight into whether or not your chosen major is the best decision.…
These past few weeks at AXIA College online have been great. The resources available are great we have an online library that gives you access to virtually anything. We have some really cool writing centers and for me and my scattered brain, I think it’s going to help me put all my thought’s down effectively. We even have a center to help out for math. The online classroom and campus is so easy to navigate and get used to. I really like the online classroom environment and discussion. It is fun to interact with classmates from around the country. Our online books are cool too! But the biggest thing is the faculty and staff of UOP is really what made this all possible for me from the ease of the enrollment to financial process. I must admit at first I was little intimidated, but after the orientation I felt right at home. I think maybe with your busy schedule you might want to consider this college for yourself.…
This unit is about the skills and knowledge needed by the IT User to plan and review their use of predefined or commonly used IT tools for activities that are at times non-routine or unfamiliar. As a result of reviewing their work, they will be able to identify and use automated methods or alternative ways of working to improve productivity.…
I decided to choose the Job Corps path to help me in obtaining my G.E.D or high school diploma. Also, I feel that choosing this path I can get a trade that will help me with having a productive future. I have done some research on job Corps and I feel as though this is a better path for me than trying to obtain an education on my own. I have never been out on my own and this will help me to see life. It will also help me too grow up and make the necessary changes that I need to raise a productive son.…
There are many reasons why I wish to get out of the Avid program. I personally feel like this class isn’t helping me in any way shape or form, I know I’ll do fine without Avid and I want to do electives which I would actually enjoy and would make my remaining two years of high school memorable.…
I feel the most important thing with a program such as this is time management and getting as involved with your studies and peers as you can. I also feel that this can be difficult at times as well. Without the structure of a classroom and face to face interactions with your peers, it can be difficult to build the same repore with an online program. Lake and von Baeyer's article “Tips for Successful Students" is very helpful in that it defines, in easy steps, how to become a better student. With day to day stressors like a full time jobs, children, and bills staying diligent with school work can be difficult. My positive attitude and organization skills tend to be my strengths and will help me be a successful student. These qualities along with several other, make managing my life and obtaining a higher level of education more attainable.…
At a service academy, the people that attend are there to get an education and train to be an officer in the military. They are there to gain valuable life and military skills. In my opinion, that is more appealing than any college. I want to surround myself with people that have the same goals and aspirations as me, and I believe that the Academy can provide that. During the week that I was at the Air Force summer seminar, I learned about life at the Academy. I knew going into that week, that I would either love it or hate it. Throughout the week I spent time doing physical training, going to classes, and learning about life at the Academy. After that week, I knew I wanted to attend the Air Force Academy. I knew I belonged. I want to attend…
because I do not want to end up someplace else. The major that I have chosen is…
Overall, this was a good experience for me to get some practice talking with others face to face. I enjoyed it and really liked how the people there were very nice and willing to answer any of the questions I had for them. Most of these jobs would be part time jobs, which would help me get some work experience and still get my school work done. The work experience is good so when I am applying for a full time job, my job history on my resume will have more than just one job that I have…
Can you imagine that your life could change by programs you are involved in? That is what happened to me. Last year, I joined TAPP (Teen Advocate for Pregnancy Prevention) which meant I had to communication with youths that did not want to listen. I had to be very creative and sometime be an actor to get my point across to the youths. I began to realize that God gave me a gift to communicate and act so I needed to pursue this major.…
At the Fashion Institute of Technology, I plan to accomplish numerous things, such as learning how to create paintings with different materials and innumerable delightful techniques. I relish using acrylic paints and watercolors. Many different materials are used in the fine arts curriculum. I believe that FIT will teach me not to give up and not to quit during a difficult task. The Fashion Institute of Technology can also help me realize my goal, which is to become a great artist. The curriculum for the fine arts program teaches 2D, 3D, sculpting and more. This would help me advance my artwork to another level. In my studio art class last year, I was taught a different style of painting, which was difficult for me. I learned about aboriginal art.…
For starters, I think the AEM major is the right major for me because I am not 100% sure about exactly what career path I want to pursue in my future. I believe that I can benefit from this program because I think your AEM major at CALS is very broad and can lead me to various opportunities. I also know that this is a flexible program so it can allow me to do many different things. In the future I would possibly like to go in to business and I think it would be a good idea if I studied management and how I can apply economics.…
Through UA Early College, I believe the program can help me accomplish my goals of expanding my studies for my majors, prepare me for when I become a full time college student, and uplift my chances of being accepted into college after I graduate high school. The classes that UA Early College offers will benefit me to obtain the information I need to earn the degree for my majors. For instance, the principles of biology 1 and 2, general chemistry, and general physics 1 and 2 are all in which the courses that are required to aid my studies in health science to apply in the work force of dentistry. Also other courses that relates to fine arts would as well assist me for my other major in art so that I may one day be qualified to be an art director.…
The goal of AVID is to assist students into getting accepted to a 4 year college. This is accomplished through various ways, some of which are helpful and others which, are quite frankly a waste of time. AVID is not a perfect program but it does offer some advantages such as fee waivers for the SAT and ACT which encourages the AVID students to take those tests. Another clear positive are the AVID tutors which greatly assist the students when it comes to overcoming difficulties that they may face in their other classes whether it be practicing for a test or learning new material. I do feel the that the TRF’s were over complicated, we couldn’t just ask our tutors for help when we needed it but it was mandatory. This meant that many students…
Initially, I felt the Flex path only offers the flexibility to study at ones pace but after my discussion with Julie (my enrollment counselor), I discovered that the task couldn’t be achieved without being disciplined, determined, dedicated, and having good judgment of time management to meet dead lines. As for me, learning has been my lifestyle. I have had the privilege to turn all the knowledge acquired from my prior learning into skills which has sharpen my perspective to achieving my goal despite all odds. Alternatively, these traits might be due to my resilient ability to self motivate myself.…
