Ender's Game: Relationship between Ender, Peter, and Valentine
Ender's Game is fulled with excited and suspence, but have you ever analyzed the relationship between the three siblings, Ender, Peter, and Valentine? If you think about it, they had a very complicated relationship because of their different personalities, roles in the story, and their relationships. Ender's Game, by Orson Scott, science fiction shows evidence of how complicated it was. The first idea is the different personality traits that each sibling had. Second, the roles in the story that each one took part in. One was possibly more important than the other. Last, is the relationship they had with one another. Ender, Peter, and Valetine all had different viewpoints and feelings with each other. Nevertheless, their personality trates, roles in the story, and relationships, are all examples that prove that the relationship among the three siblings is complicated. Throughout the story you find examples of how different the sibling's personalities were. Peter, being the oldest feels like he is in charge and that he can get Ender and Valentine to do just about anything. He has no compassion over anyone and only thinks of himself. The book shows evidence that he is very brutal and evil, he once pressed on Ender with his foot and told him, '"I could kill you like this, just press until your dead.."' showing how violent he is (12). Valentine is very different from Peter. She has compassion over others, she does not want to manipulate people. Valentine knows she's very intelligent but doesn't take advantage of it and knows that she would never hurt anyone intentionally. Ender's Game shows how much she cares for people. When ender left to military school, Valentine cried saying, "Come back to me! I love you forever!" that points out how sweet and loving she is (26). Ender is the youngest sibling. He contains similar characteristics as his elder sister and brother. He always tries to do the right think, or what he thinks is right. When he left to military school he

    1) The main character of the book, A Separate Peace, is Gene Forrester. He is in the senior class at Devon. He is widely known as the smart student who is always on time to class and always does his school work. Gene is a good choice as the main character of this book, but if the author would have chosen Finny as the main character, the book would have been different. Finny leaves Devon for an amount of time because he breaks his leg. Therefore, if he was the main character, the book would not have been placed at Devon the whole time, it would have been placed at Finny's house for a short amount of time. The reader would have also been able to see what Finny was thinking when he first broke his leg and when he did it a second time. The two characters are similar, in the fact that, they both would not be where they are today without their friendship. They are also both very competitive with each other. Gene and Finny are different, in the fact that, Gene is shy while Finny is very outgoing. Finny is focused on athletics while Gene is focused on academics.…

Even from the beginning you can just tell that the two brothers would go out on a limb for one another and not even think twice about it. The two boys were inseparable. Whether it was playing catch out in their yard or watching the Red Sox on TV. There was even that time when “Charlie pulled out two tickets from the pocket of his jeans jacket. Red Sox Tickets” (Sherwood 9). He had got them just for him and Sam. I can connect to the relationship of Charlie and Sam St. Cloud because I also am the youngest sibling of three.
