My mother thankfully had a backup plan. “We will stay with my cousins they don’t live too far from here”. I had no clue who or what she was talking about, but none the less we caught a taxi and made our way to her cousin’s house. When we pulled up to this little home, we were greeted outside with big hugs and kisses. I had never met these people, but they had acted as they knew me for all my life, I had never felt more welcomed. As we walked inside, I noticed…

I was on the train and I overheard these two older ladies having a conversation in Spanish. At the next stop, one of the ladies got off and I took the time to familiarize myself. I learned that her name was Roberta. Luckily, she understood and spoke English, so I explained that it was an assignment for school. She agreed and I began by introducing myself and asking for her name and how she was. She replied that she was good and she asked me and I responded the same way. I asked her about her day and where she was from and she asked me where I was from, how was school, and what class I liked the most. The conversation wasn’t long, but it was longer than I thought it would be. The conversation eventually ended when she had to get off at her…

I woke up bright and early which was a little unusual. I got up and walked into the kitchen because i could hear the whole family in there. I walked in to be greeted by a wonderful smell of bacon and eggs, i knew this smell because there was a breakfast shop right by the old bridge. I watched the family go on with their business. The girl soon walked over to me, sat down and started to pet me. Later on they brought their plates piled high with food to the table. I followed them and watched them eat while they watched TV. They soon were done with breakfast and they all went their separate ways to go get dressed. After an hour the whole family was in the main room dressed and ready to go out. In as much, I would miss her too, but ever since that day, a great deal has changed. Whenever my back was turned she would always belittle who I was by speaking badly of me to her friends. Although she would would do this every opportunity, it had no effect on what my real friends thought of me, and when she stopped, with time I put everything to the past and tried to move forward. As soon as I shifted over to the high school, she seemed to forget about everything too, and we became friends again. Since we were in band together, we chose each other as bus partners. Being the last one to get on the bus, she would always get the window seat, which I obviously had no problem with, but she always seemed to hit me on her way out almost like she meant it. Everyone got off to go eat lunch, and we walked together. I gave her some space because I felt like I needed space after a long bus ride that had many people, and many bad odors. Knowing how I felt, she got closer to me, almost pushing me. I told her that I really needed my space, so I could cool down from the bus ride. As if trying to trigger me she pushed even…

My mom and I were running late. Not like it was anything new. We were supposed to be in Moulton no later than 5:30, and now it was closer to 6:00. We finally pulled into the apartment complex, where we were supposed to meet this guy, at a little after 6:00. After searching for this guy for a few minutes[->0] and a few phone calls, we assumed that we had missed him. "See Mom, you should have gotten off of work early," I said just as I saw the guy pull into the parking lot. "Hey are you ready to move into your apartment?" asked the guy. After a few minutes of struggling to get the furniture into the apartment, I figured it was the end of the adventure. A few weeks[->1] later, after getting home from work, my mom was telling me that I would never guess who had called her earlier in the day. Not being in a great mood, I just shrugged my shoulders as to suggest that I didn't really care. Then she asked me if I remembered the guy who we had met just a few days before. She told me that he had called to ask her if she wanted to go out one night that coming weekend.…
