How To Ban Animal Testing Essay
The use of animals to test human drugs and cosmetic products and to conduct pointless laboratory experiments is unconventional. Humans and animals are similar, but they are not identical, so using animals to test products intended for humans does not make sense. Each year millions of animals are killed or badly maimed in laboratory experiments. Animal testings must be banned. The tests are usually proven to be ineffective, they waste tremendous amounts of money, the tests are cruel, and there are other ways to test drugs and cosmetic products. Animals have been used for experimental research since ancient times. Using animals for product testing has always been a thing to do, but it has become popular in the last century (FAQs). Many different …show more content…
Because of this there have been new discoveries that show alternative ways to test medical products. The alternative tests are more conventional. With all the new technology that has been invented in recent years, it makes more sense to utilise the devices that have been created. Some of the new common methods are in vitro test methods and models, computerized patient drug databases, virtual drug trials, computer simulations, stem cell and genetic testing methods, using MRIs and CT scans, and microdosing (In …show more content…
“Medical and scientific experiments on animals, if it remains within reasonable limits is a morally acceptable practice since it contributes to caring for or saving human lives (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2417).” The catholic church believes it is acceptable to use animals for experiments and tests, but within reason. God had left humans to be in charge of the world he created an all that is on it, including the animals. So if people are just using them to perform pointless, wasteful experiments they are going against what God intended for us to

Do you want to see animals abused and killed sometimes for nothing? Animal testing is flawed and can produce very unreliable results. Around 26 million animals are used every year for scientific and commercial testing. These animals are used to determine the toxicity and effectiveness of medications before they test it on humans. Therefore animal testing should be banned.…

The first reason why we shouldn’t have animal testing is because animals are getting hurt or abused. “Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year.” The chemicals that the people are using are burning or other worse things to them. The chemicals that they use on the animals could hurt or kill them. Over half of side effects cannot be detected in…

Animal testing on cosmetics should be banned. People are put in jail all the time for abusing their pets, but people are never put in jail for inhumane testing of cosmetics and other pharmaceuticals on these same animals. I have done a lot of research on animal testing and methods we can use that are more effective and don’t use animals through high school in my free time because of curiosity, so I know a lot of random facts about the harmful nature of this and alternative methods. Animals are being tortured to “help” make better medicine and, the majority of the time does not affect people the same way as animals. Animal testing is inhumane and ineffective the majority of the time, it should be banned.…

Due to advanced technology, scientists have found many new options for testing that avoid animal cruelty. Over the years scientists have found testing on Lab-grown cells and organs to be a great alternative to animal testing. This is commonly used for testing cosmetics and some believe if this method continues to develop, animal testing will eventually decrease in popularity and be seen as unnecessary. Another option is human clinical tests. These tests consist of humans voluntarily trying new drugs, biological products, and medical devices. Although there are risks of the experiment causing harm or injury, keep in mind that these clinical tests are voluntary and us humans have the choice, unlike…

Animal testing has been going on for a couple of years now. Scientists use animal testing as a form of “safe” testing. According to Humane Society International, animal testing is, “Procedures performed on living animals for purposes of research into the basic biology and diseases, assessing the effectiveness of new medicinal products, and testing the human health and/or environmental safety of consumer and industry products such as cosmetics, household cleaners, food additives, pharmaceuticals and industrial/agro-chemicals. (1)” Many companies use animal testing because it is easier, or more ethical, to…

An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the United States fir various types of testing. These animals are used for scientific and commercial testing to develop medical treatments, determine toxicity of medications and chemicals, check the safety of products destined for human use and other biomedical or healthcare purposes. This testing on animals is cruel, inhumane and should be banned. It should be banned because the animals are held and live in inhumane conditions, it is harmful and at times lethal to the animals and there are other research method available that do not require animal testing.…

Animal testing is cruel and inhumane. Common animals used in research labs are rats and mice. Animals are subjected to experiments that deal with drug testing, disease infection, maiming, and some painful invasive procedures. There are fairly high casualty rates before the studies are concluded and many animals are disposed off after the study is completed because they are no longer of use. Common lab procedures that require extensive training are anesthetization, intubation and euthanasia.…

Animal testing has always been a dispute between people; some people think it’s morally wrong and some people think it helps with medical and scientific breakthroughs. Drugs that people use or cosmetics that are used could have been tested through animals before being stocked on shelves. About 800 animals are tested on before a drug is passed to clinical trials (“Is animal”). Many animals get tested on, but many like mice, rabbits, hamsters, monkeys, dogs, cats, pigs, and some other animals get tested on. Animals can be used to find new advances in medical treatment and check safety for products, but these animals that get tested on can go through pain and death. Animal testing is wrong and should be stopped because…

Animal testing has been technique that is used for a number of years. It has been used as a way to test things ranging from medicine and vaccines to cosmetics and personal care products. Millions of dogs, cats, bunnies, rodents, and so many more other animals are being used for animal testing. These animals are forced to be in labs and are locked up in cages until they die of the drugs that are inserted inside their bodies. Once the researchers say the drugs are safe humans are taking a risk to be severely ill, hospitalize, or even die. Animal testing for medicine is harmful to both humans and animals because the side effects that occur in the animals are different for humans and the drugs that work on animals fail for humans.…

One more reason I am against the use of animals for product testing is because of the cost of it. Animal testing generally costs an enormous amount of money, as the animals must be fed, housed, cared for and treated with drugs or a similar experimental substance. On top of that, animal testing may occur more than once and over the course of months, which means that additional costs are acquired. The price of animals themselves must also be factored into the equation. There are companies who breed animals specifically for testing and animals can be purchased through them.…

The most common form now, is petri dish testing, which has been proven to be more effective than animal testing, because petri dishes can produce more relevant information. Along with petri dishes, there are Microfluidic chips. The chips are lined with human cells, which then can recreate the functions of human organs. When using the microfluidic chip, it allows computers to digitally add and remove simulations, without having to harm an actual living being. ("Animal Testing - ProCon.org.")
