My name is ......................, and I have been a student here at the college since ……………… Throughout this time, I have faced a number of challenges in meeting my own goals for success as a student. However, over the last few months things in my life have improved significantly to allow me to position myself to again become a successful student here at the college. (In this paragraph, explain who you are to the committee. Be concise, but thorough. This is your opportunity to introduce and set the tone for the rest of the letter.)…

I have decided to apply to the UNCW Honors College because I strive to excel in everything I do while setting an example for my peers. I am a natural leader and feel that being a member of the honors college would propel me into the leadership role that I thrive in. I am strong in my beliefs and morals and will positively impact my peers as well as my community. I also would like to be surrounded by strong, like-minded individuals that take pride in their school and community. While being a member of the UNCW Honors College, I hope to positively impact my school as well as my community. I have lived in Wilmington all my life and have grown up around UNCW. Since this is my hometown I have a great deal of pride for this area and look to enrich…
Start with: Another reason I would be a good candidate is that I'm a responsible student. For example, my work is always turned it before it's due and I'm always on time for class and work. I understand the importance of being on time and ready to work. Staying on task and focused is one of my strongest skills, and I look forward to the opportunity to apply this within the shops at school, and at work.…
1. When I think of what I can contribute to the university to community, I begin to look at what the university is all about. Florida A M University is all about warmth and acceptance. It’s all about driving students from all walks of life to perform to the best of their capabilities. There all about welcoming African American students and encouraging them to pursue greater heights. My only wish is that I will be given a chance to contribute even in the smallest of way, in helping the university keep its reputation and the prestige it deserves. Doing so is not an impossible task for I believe that simply being myself will be a contribution itself. I honestly believe that I am strong enough to face the multiple challenges that will come along the way as I pursue my…
I have chosen to return to school and pursue a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice for a couple of reasons. The first reason is to increase my personal knowledge of the Criminal Justice system which includes police trends, criminal/civil courts, juvenile justice and other aspects of law enforcement. During my experience as commissioned officer for the past four years I have learned that in order to consider myself as an experienced officer and train others in law enforcement, I have to increase my knowledge base in all areas of Criminal Justice through education. This would give me credibility if I chose to be a Field Training Officer or an instructor at a law enforcement training academy. In order for me to be confident in a supervisory position…
Human rights generally specialize in individual cases against people, businesses, and the government. Since the main purpose of a human rights attorney is to to help others protect, enforce, and defend human rights, many people and companies go to them for clarity. Human rights attorneys typically work for nonprofit organizations, governmental organizations, and federal government agencies. Some human rights attorneys fight to make sure others are being treated fairly while others focus on specific issues. At the end of the day the main goal for a civil rights attorney is to assure people are equally treated. In order to become a human rights lawyer you should have an undergraduate law degree then take a one year legal practice course. After…
I sincerely hope that you choose me for your program. I know that I don’t need to brag about my academic achievements; you are more than aware of those. I am already eligible and that’s why you have opened your application to me. I have to tell you about the vigor and dedication that I plan to bring to The Honors College. I can assure you that I am not lacking in enthusiasm and perseverance. Being accepted into The Honors College would be a privilege and an honor. Thank you so much for your time. I hope to hear from you…
My educational goals and plans involve criminal justice, human services, and vet science. I went to Niacc for two years to try and get my Criminal Justice degree. I took several classes for it, but fell short of money to finish what I needed to graduate. I have always been interested in T.V. shows like Criminal Minds and Law and Order: SVU, 48 Hours, and Dateline. Those shows give me the idea of what I want to do and who I want to be like. I don't know the destined occupation in that career field that I want to do. I would be okay with any job in that career field though. I have much respect for police officers and fire fighters. I always told myself I want to be like them someday. I want to be a hero to someone. I want to go the extra…
with students, military cadre having sex with recruits and criminal justice employees having sex with offenders seems to be in the reports of the news media every day. In recent years, the Department of Public Safety has certainly had their share of this crisis. Agencies dedicated to administrating justice should not be in the business of dispensing sex. Even so, the department faces one scandal after another over staff having sexual contact with inmates, offenders and juveniles.…
I also asked my Director in my place of work who is a Social Worker to go over my degree plan. She went through and saw that Empire State College has a defined program that instills in their students an appreciation of the ever-changing character of the health professions, to provide an opportunity for broad general education and to inspire students to pursue graduate study in specialized fields of interest. I believe that I have put together a strong program which will serve me well as I continue in my career in the Human Services field. By the time I am done with my degree, I would have incorporated these attributes into my…
What do you think is the most important goal of the criminal justice system? Why?…
As a future student of IUPUI I am wanting to learn independence and teamwork. I want to be able to have hands on experience that I was unable to obtain during high school. Going to an actual college will allow me to be able to be with others, who take their work seriously and want to be at the college. Challenges I have had over my high school year has made it difficult to be attentive and made it where I had to go from school to school. Raised in a bad situation, caused me to have to move to two different high schools. This consequently caused me to fall behind miss school and lose my way of transportation to and from school. The school however helped me out with a ride and this made it possible to get back in fourth. While all this happened, fortunately I was able to join a Medical Assisting program at Central Nine, which has taught me the basics of nursing and learning about the human anatomy.…
Graduation for Fort LeBoeuf senior class is almost here, the stress of last minute decisions on where we want to go to school and constantly being asked what do you want to be when you done with school. I have set many goals for myself as a senior at Fort LeBoeuf for my plans after high school. I plan to attend Edinboro University for four years to major in Social Work and minor in Criminal Justice. I plan to excel in these subjects as my education is important to me. I will work hard and be the best student I can be and take every chance I can get to open doors for the future, and to make these next four years at Edinboro the best years so I can be successful in these fields. At the end of these next four years I plan to graduate and apply…
