Motocross Essay
There are multiple types of jumps in a dirt bike race. There are table tops, double , and step ups. If you just go right into jumping you can seriously hurt yourself. It is better to practice alone first before just signing up for a race and jumping for the first time. Because multiple people can be jumping at the same time and if you make a mistake not only do you hurt yourself you can hurt someone else. Motocross can be a serious dangerous sport, before you do it a lot of safety equipment is required. Most tracks make you wear neck braces, gloves, helmets, motocross pants, jerseys, and boots. Besides the required gear they have more like knee braces and elbow braces. Each one the gears can be 100s of dollars making this a very expensive sport. They do this because there is a great chance that someone can get hurt, which some people enjoy that “near death experience,” or that “adrenaline “rush.” They also make you sign a waiver saying you won’t sue before entering the track. …show more content…
This allows the person to roll over the jump (not completing it) by allowing to get farther and farther jumping. This allows the person to get used to the bike being in the air which is a feeling that if you’re not used too can be completely foreign to your body cause you’re fighting your instincts to keep it on the ground. If you landing on the stable material in the middle you try to land the back wheel slightly before the front wheel for a smooth and fast landing. If you're actually landing on the landing part you land on the front tire slightly first, because you will be at a angle this it allows it to be a more smooth landing and is more natural for the bike so won’t feel like you just jumped 50 feet. The bike won’t absorb of lot of the force because it’s on the front leaving you in control for whatever is

The day I took off on my 4 wheeler, and left my Mom and Dad in the dust. It started out awesome and fun, then turned out to be very scary. It was July 4, 2013, my family and I loaded up our 4 wheelers for a fun day in the great outdoors. We all unloaded our 4 wheelers, then took off out into the desert. I wanted to see how fast I could go around the sharp corners on dirt roads. It was so much. I was having so much fun seeing how fast I could drive my 4 wheeler, around the sharp dirt road corners, I never looked back.…

My high school cross country coach has been a very influential person to me. He has mentored me and encouraged me through four years of cross country. Because of his direction I trained myself into one of his fastest runners. I didn’t just get faster, I also learned a very important life lesson. To always try my best and be determined to achieve my goals. In one year I dropped my 5k time from a 19:08 to a 17:58. A result of my dedication. I know I won’t be the fastest runner, but I can be the hardest working…

I can say it has been over a year since I did my last amateur cross country race, between moving, family/work responsibilities and a self admitted laziness in actually getting my ass to a race early Sunday mornings when I could be sleeping in, I do, in fact miss this part of my cycling experience, therefore I am hoping to join in on the weekend racing festivities next spring when the local mountain bike series starts up again. Even though I have not done much racing lately, I have been doing plenty of riding and having a blast exploring all the sweet trails in my small part of the world. While writing this article on racing I was reminded of all the excitement, nervousness and unplanned chaos that comes hand in hand with weekend racing and…

It was the happiest and at the same time it was one of the scariest moments of my life. When I was up on the gate for my first gate drop ever I was absolutely terrified, because when that gate dropped we would all be taking off to one small turn and the fear of crashing was racing through my mind. Racing motocross is definitely one of the most dangerous thrill seeking sports out there and I’m madly in love it. I raced at local tracks for about a year and a half and I actually did really well. I won quite a few races and was loving every second of it then the day came and I turned sixteen and I was finally old enough to race on the national level all over the east…

Sports are massive in the entertainment industry, many people across the world enjoy watching them and there are all kinds of sports. My personal favorite sport to do and to watch is BMX. The usual time people can watch BMX is during the Summer X-Games, an intense sporting event focused around the less popular sports including: skateboarding, bike riding, rally racing, and during the Winter X-Games, snowboarding. Something that really got me into BMX, was seeing Dave Mirra land the very first double backflip on a BMX bike. This was even done at the X-Games, during the event, BMX best trick.…

2.Base Jumping. Base-jumping is pretty self-explanatory. Basically you are on a highly elevated surface such as a bridge of building, tower etc., and you just jump off of it. You are attached to a cord and when you jump you are set swinging until you slow enough to be pulled back up. It is actually pretty simple so I could imagine myself doing it at some point. It’s probably in the 85% chance of me doing it because it is common.…
