My Personal Philosophy Of Leadership
My personal philosophy of leadership is always putting your maximum effort in everything you do, going the extra mile, being honest, and always trying to bring the best out of people. Two theories from the text that resonate with me and inform my philosophy are the servant leadership theory and the transforming leadership theory. As mentioned before, I think I am a servant leader because my primary goals is to serve and help others. In other words, the reason I like being an E-Board member in my clubs is so that I can use my voice to make a difference in my community and help individuals to my best ability. I try to put others first and their needs so that they can be the best leaders they can be as well. I also resonate with the transforming …show more content…
The five signature themes I received was being an achiever, an arranger, a relator, significant, and responsible. Achiever, also known as the internal fire that keeps me going even on my rough days, allows me to accomplish things quickly and effectively. Additionally, arranger can be seen in my leadership role because I have to be flexible with other individual’s schedule and at the same time come up with different backup plans if my original plan doesn’t work. This is specifically seen in my leadership role as I have to arrange different E-board and member meetings so we are all on the same page and confusion is minimized. Relator, meaning keeping an open mind about individuals and situations, can also be seen in my leadership because I try to keep an open mind when meeting new people. Additionally, significance can be seen in my leadership because I will like others to see me as credible and professional. I always try to exhibit the best form of self I can as I would like to leave a positive legacy behind when I graduate from FAU. Lastly, and probably the signature theme I feel represents me the best, responsibility. I like to do things the best way possible, but when I make a mistake it is important that I take ownership of that error. I also find it really important when I say I am going to do something, that I don’t back out because not only would that look bad on myself, but the entire team and club since I am also representing
