Redeeming Qualities Analysis
I may not be perfect, but I do have many redeeming qualities. Some of these qualities include my determination, my ability to learn quickly, and being able to be friendly with most people. I show these traits often in my everyday life. I keep trying at activities that I may not be very good at because I am determined and want to be better, such as working on computers. It does help, though, that I learn quickly because I can figure out what is wrong or what needs to be done more easily. Unlike these two qualities, however, my ability to be friendly towards most people does not just affect my personal life, it also affects those around me. These are all great qualities to have, but they do not really tell what I have done or accomplished. …show more content…
Some of the activities that I particularly enjoy are Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Scholars Bowl, and my youth group in my church. I have been in FBLA all four years of high school. My Freshman and Sophomore years, I was only a member of the group, but it was my Junior and Senior years that I became an officer. The positions that I held were Stucco Rep for my Junior year and Treasurer for my Senior year. FBLA was an activity that I enjoyed, but I found even more enjoyment from Scholars Bowl. Scholars Bowl is another activity that I have been in all four years of high school, as well as two from middle school. It is closer to a sport, rather than a club, so there are not office positions, but rather captains and managers. I held the position as captain of the junior varsity my Junior year. That was not the only leadership position I held, however: I am the leader for my church's youth group. This is my favorite activity and it is where I find the most enjoyment. I have been leading the group for about two years. This activity is what has given me the most experience in leadership, and it leads me to believe that I could do well in a leadership position. Some of my skills also show my qualifications. I am a good problem solver, a quick learner, and I can usually make peace with a struggling group. My skills can also be utilized in personal projects as well, though. This is useful to know because my career choice, computer programming, can be done with group projects or individual

Leadership is a lifestyle, not a role one adopts. Leadership requires strength and power, but also the ability to empathize and recognize others' needs. As a high school student, I have had many opportunities to be a leader, whether it be through clubs, group projects, or extracurricular activities. This role allowed me to learn the ropes of directing as well as take care of the six girls cast in the show. I adapted the role of the "stage mom," making sure every hair was curled to perfection and every prop was in its place, as well as ensuring their lines were memorized and their staging was proper. During high school, I committed most of my free time to my NJROTC unit and my 4-H club. In both of these organizations, community service, leadership, citizenship, and initiative are indispensable values that are essential to their functioning, and I like to think I have learned to embody these traits. In 4-H, I have attended, and then went on to teach, numerous leadership and group trainings. In NJROTC, I attended the Area 5 Leadership Academy, graduated as the Second Honor Cadet of the 2014 Academy, and was selected to be an Aide for the 2015 Academy. I held, or currently hold, leadership positions in both organizations and I feel I set a good example for my peers and subordinates. Through any task, I am enthusiastic about my job and…

While I attain all of these characteristics, I also am able to offer more--I am a person with strong opinions, someone who’s not afraid to stand up for what I believe in. I am someone who will go the extra mile to help a friend, to make them smile on a bad day. While intelligence may get you far in life, having an outgoing and sociable personality can help me reach the goals I desire. When I confided in my friends for help as to why I deserve to be in the National Honors Society, they all had the same idea: I am more than just textbooks and good grades, and my warming personality and welcoming attitude is what makes me…

All throughout school I have participated in many clubs and organizations that have not only molded me as a person, but have helped me to develop responsibility, and leadership skills. Currently I am an active member of National Honor Society, and DECA. Both of these organizations, provided by my high school, encourage leadership, volunteer work, and have high expectations for behavior, and grades. Being in National Honor Society has shown me to continually do for others in need. There are always opportunities to get involved with the community, and even create drives for things like stuffed animals, and blankets for children who are sick in the hospital, and “Care Catties” for cancer patients, which include tissues, water bottles, hard candy, and lotion. DECA is another organization I am involved in at Frenship High School. DECA is a business organization for high school marketing students looking to learn, develop and compete in a competitive event. I have been a member since my sophomore…
