Life Statement Leadership is something I strive for in my everyday life. In Troop 157 I have had many opportunities to demonstrate my leadership skills. In troop 157 I have been a quartermaster, senior patrol leader, and I am currently an assistant senior patrol leader. I was also a den chief with troop 868. I have planned 4 trips so far and also guided other scouts in their planning. At school I practice leadership in Skills USA, which is a business oriented club. In this organization I am the Junior Officer and I assist in the planning of events.
I am an active student in my school. I am in Spanish club and Skills USA and I was also in the chess club until it was closed due a lack of participation. I am currently taking all honors
classes and I am working very hard to keep my grades up. I have also earned two presidential awards for outstanding academic achievement for maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher throughout elementary and middle school. My future plans include going to college and working towards becoming an engineer. I enjoy spending time with my parents. We have had some interesting vacations. In 2013 we visited Washington D.C. and Williamsburg, VA. I really enjoyed learning about American history. My mother is Scottish and I have visited Scotland three times. I have really enjoyed experiencing a different culture and the old history associated with Britain.
I participated in the Order of the Arrow ordeal in August, 2011 and since then have earned Brotherhood with them. I was unanimously voted in by the other members of my old troop, troop 868, and I have continued to work cheerfully for the order ever since.
Once I have achieved my Eagle Scout rank then I will focus on earning the palms. There are several things that I am looking forward to in scouts including a trip to Sea Base in Florida. I am also looking forward to being a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster and continuing to work with the younger scouts in my troop.
Scouting has helped to shape me into the person that I am today. It has given me the confidence to step up and try new things, take charge when needed, and has built my moral character. I have many good memories from my path to Eagle, and I will cherish them forever. The most important thing that I have received from scouting is the knowledge that I have the ability to overcome any obstacle ahead of me.
