I have upheld the Chanhassen High School National Honor Society 4 pillars of character, leadership, scholarship and service. I am currently involved in key club, rotary interact, tennis, babysitting, as well as working at the Big Thrill Factory, and it is through these activities that being kind, a leader friendly, and polite, truly allows me to shine.…
Link crew is a powerful program that creates lifelong leaders who connect, encourage, and inspire positive change. The statement before is a mission for each leader to achieve in this program. along with the mission statement there are also core values; Joy, trust, character, and service. I believe that anyone can embody this mission as long as they are focused and passionate. This semester link crew helped me connect and embody the mission statement through contact with freshmen, my service project, and the assigned readings through the semester.…
What other volunteer work have you done in the community (may or may not be affiliated with the National Honor Society)?…
The components of citizenship, community service, academics, work and home life, and extracurricular actives help me shine as a well-rounded individual. As an involved and caring citizen in the Union Township community, I do my best to make my mark. Displaying a good role as a citizen through community service has been a value I possessed ever since I could remember. At a young age, I started to serve my community with my parents at both school and church events and it has stuck with me since. Through community service such as being an assistant teacher in St. Veronica’s Religious Education Program, Glen Este High School’s member of National Honors Society, and Key Club, I not only helped out Union Township but I have also made new relationships and feel good about myself. Community service always makes me feel better because I know I’m helping others and making my mark through the friends I have made through both of these service programs.…
The most meaningful service activities that I have performed while at UTD would definitely be leading the volunteering team at Jonathan's Place, an emergency shelter for homeless kids. I had the honor to volunteer as a member of the Global Business Organization since August 2015, and took over the program in the Fall of 2016. During my visits at Jonathan's Place, I understood the value of education and love. The children that live at the shelter have gone through different types of domestic violence, and require a lot of attention and patience. Those small kids have thought me to appreciate my life in a way that I would have never been able to do by myself. I have been so move and change through these volunteering activities that I will continue…
A paragon for this transfer of support is my involvement in planning the Kansas Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Summer Leadership Conference. The first duty of the Kansas State Parliamentarian is to coordinate this statewide conference for all Kansas local chapters. During my first year in office, the vice president on my officer team mentored me throughout the organizational…

Personally, I have been involved in my community since I was in the Boy Scouts of America. As I acsended through to the top rank of Boy Scouts known as an Eagle Scout, many projects were conducted. For example, I have planned and conducted my own Eagle Scout project in 2009; this project consisted of building a roof for my local firehouse. Other community service includes roadside clean-ups, annual earth day events, and fellow Eagle Scout projects. Since my community college career, I have been well involved with our campus and community. Particularly in Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society of all community colleges, where I have become the President of our chapter. Within the society, the objectives include a honor's in action project…
I have been an active participant in community service opportunities with clubs within my school, such as the National Honors Society and Key Club. I also volunteer at the LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library weekly. I will continue this work by joining many clubs and organizations that are dedicated to community service. I also plan to continue to volunteer at the library.…
Additionally, I have also been active in my school and community outside of the classroom, serving as a dance team leader for two years, serving as a committed leader in the Future Business Leaders of America, serving as a dedicated member in the DECA, Inc., and volunteering to assist children with disabilities and serving the homeless during school breaks.…
When I was younger, I participated in Girl Scouts where we volunteered in food pantries, senior centers, hospitals, animal shelters and charities for the less fortunate. We also participated in service projects such as making cards for veterans, making blankets for hospitals and the homeless, and made care packages for veterans and the hurricane victims. Volunteering is important to me because I had an aunt that unfortunately died of cancer and I feel that no one should have to go through the pain and suffering that she did.…
Though I undoubtedly cherished every moment with all of the activities I had participated in throughout high school, the one I yearn to continue is being an active member of the National Honor Society. Service is one of the four characteristics National Honor Society members represent and is my personal favorite aspect of National Honor Society. Since being inducted my junior year, I have found a new appreciation for giving back to my community. My chapter partakes in many different types of volunteer work for our small town like hosting blood drives, teacher appreciation week, and our own personal service projects. I feel like my community has done so much for me and I love that I have the opportunity to give back to it alongside my peers…
Service is one pillar of the national honors society that I believe a lot in. I believe that service presents so many opportunities and is such a meaningful way for one to spend their time. During my years at Barrington High School thus far, I have participated in many service projects including packing school supplies for children in foster care, collecting money at ALS tag days, and working with children with disabilities in a horseback riding rehabilitation program. Every week I was excited to see the progress of the children I worked with as they grew through horseback riding, and I am proud to say I played a part in…
Service in the community is also a large part of my life. Many service opportunities come out of churches, which give me many chances to serve my community outside of school. Inside of the church, is serve to help and occasionally lead Sunday school for the youth. At church events, I have been nominated as the official popcorn maker, and have just recently become victim to the dreaded dunk tank. Through school, I am involved…
My most significant contribution to a community, without any doubt in my mind, has been to both of my local Boys and Girls Club of America branches. I first began to go to the Boys and Girls Club shortly after the divorce of my parents. In the beginning, I was at my lowest point, until I learned many of my peers were in a similar situation. From that point on, I helped the staff at the Club, mentored younger kids, and provided assistance to anyone who needed it. Quickly, I became the Club’s youth of the month, and in 2013 became the Boys and Girls Club of Zionsville’s youth of the year, the highest honor a Boys and Girls Club member can receive. In the Club, everyone had forged a bond of understanding with one another. In some way, we were…
