THE EFFECTS OF A PARENT
THE EFFECTS OF A PARENT, TEACHER, OR FRIEND IN A PERSON’S LIFE
NICOLE ADAMS-FOSTER
POST UNIVERSITY

Parents, teachers and friends have such an effect on a person’s life. He/she may allow things to be altered in his /her destiny. Parents give their children responsibility in so many ways. Responsibility is one of the first things that a parent has an instinct to do involving one’s child. Without the responsibility of parents, so many children would have gone down the wrong road of life.
Parents also have to discipline their children. Disciplining a child guides him/her into the right direction. Children learn at a young age right from wrong, and that allows each child to determine the type of destiny on desires.
Also, teachers help develop the character of each student he/she has encountered. The character of a person shows the type of adult one will become, whether the child is good or bad. Teachers do one of the most important jobs in the world, by giving an education to each student that enter their classroom. Each person who receives the opportunity to learn is saying, “I choose to succeed in my future.”
Last but not least, friends become a very important part of one’s life. So many people depend on their friends for advice, from relationships, to financial and spiritual. People allow their friends to sometime dictate every part of their life. Even if the decision that’s being made is good or bad, the person makes a decision based on his/her friend’s advice without considering the consequences. Friends can also be a support system. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on, or someone with whom to share a laugh.
In conclusion, as the song Dionne Warwick sings, “That’s what friends are for.” Throughout life there is always going to be someone or something that will have an effect on a person’s future, but as an individual, one has to make his/her own decisions. Friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. Ideally a

One of the main reasons for this is to help the child to feel secure emotionally. Boundaries need to be set, and soon a child will learn their rights and responsibilities. If goals and boundaries are not set at a young age the child will be confused as to what they are allowed to do and what they are not allowed to do. Children will often try to push the limits and if the parent/carer is not firm and especially consistent, the child will keep pushing to get their own way and will always be in trouble. This causes a child to be unhappy and confused and will remain with him/ her throughout their life. The adult will then find it difficult to set self- limits leading to difficulties such as eating disorders. Discipline must always be appropriate, reasonable and within the law. When boundaries are set and kept, it leads to a good adult/parent child relationship which is a vital component for healthy emotional development and a happy, stable…

”Don’t Spare the rod and spoil the child.” We have all heard that before, as a child I heard it a lot. I was not the most well behaved child, so I got into plenty of trouble. My mom hated my temper tantrums. When I was little, she disciplined me, and now I am a well behaved young adult who knows right from wrong. Discipline is a way of teaching a child how to do what is right while growing up. There are multiple ways to discipline a child and make him/her behave. I feel that it is very important to begin to disciplining children when they are young so they know what is expected of them.it gives them a better sense of right and wrong while growing up once a child has reached his/her teenage years it is too late to begin the discipline process. If parents begin early, I believe that the most effective ways of disciplining children are timeout, taking away privileges, talking to the child, and, as a last resort, and spanking.…
