Training
Training can be defined as a process which brings an employee to an acceptable and decided standard of talent and skills through teaching and making them learn via guidance. Training helps the employee to perform the task better by gaining the required knowledge, skills and attitudes. Training enhances the understanding of employees; and gives them a scope to analyze and explore their own present knowledge and abilities. Training is a participative process in which participation takes place between the trainer and the trainee. Trainer is an expert and can impart knowledge whereas trainee is the learner to whom knowledge will be imparted. Both the members have to play an active role to make the training program successful and effective.
Training is the means to ▪ Impart knowledge ▪ Communicate information; and ▪ Assist in learning
Training is an integral part for the growth, development and overall transformation of the business. Hence it is important for the organization to design and manage the training programs in a very effective manner and use the resources efficiently. Thus, a systematic approach is necessary to design the training program. This approach is the training model which is named as A.D.D.I.E process by the trainers.
The A.D.D.I.E. Model
The A.D.D.I.E. model is a five step process which stands for ▪ Analyze the needs ▪ Design ▪ Develop ▪ Implement ▪ Evaluate
Step 1: Analyze the needs: Analysis of needs imply to the analysis of training needs. The trainers along with the management and other members form a team to work out on the goals and objectives of the training program. A need assessment for the training is undertaken which is then justified so that an investment in the program can be decided on. As training programs incur huge investments it is important for the organizations to analyze the training need
