In the beginning, McCandless was living a happy life. Not once did he show regret over the decision he made of leaving his family and home. I’m guessing Alex was who he always wanted to be. I think never liked who he was and how he was treated but maybe being alex for a while was the longest escape he could find. Chris McCandless wanted to make a big impact in his life, and in my opinion he did the greatest thing he could do.
Chris McCandless was the kind of person who strongly believed in following his dreams. McCandless didn’t want to worry about anything. Chris was stubborn, not once did he admit some of his mistakes. For example never calling his parents, because no matter what they were his parents and the least he could have done was calling them and letting them know he was okay.
McCandless has been criticized for being selfish and unprepared for his trip (Johnson, 2014). Chris didn’t care what people said about him.
