Animal Testing Everyday animals die in labs just so that you look pretty or young. Animal testing is when scientist test their products on animals to see if it is harmful to humans. Animal testing causes death to so many animals. (Ian Murnaghan). The people who are against animal testing thinks that it is useless to kill animals just to make you look prettier or younger. People who are for animal testing say that animal testing helps us save many human lives and find so many more cures. (Zoomshare). Although animal testing is legal, many citizens are fighting to stop killing the innocent creations that God made. There are many types of animal testing. One of them is called Acute Toxicity. Acute toxicity is when scientists see the danger of exposure from a chemical by mouth, skin, or inhalation. (AAVS). During this procedure the animals receive excruciating pain, convulsions, loss of motor function, and/or uncontrollable seizures. After the test if the animals were of no use to them they were killed so that the scientists could see any internal damage. Rats and mice are the animals that they use for this test. Another animal test is called the eye irritancy test. For the eye irritancy test they usually use rabbits. They give rabbits the draize eye test. The draize eye tests assess eye irritation made by many types of chemicals. (AAVS). They put one substance on one eye and use the other eye as the control. During the test the rabbits suffer from redness, bleeding, ulcers, and even blindness. The pros on animal testing are that animal testing can save lives. Scientists use animal testing for drugs and medication for both humans and animals. (Ian Murnaghan). Animal testing also proves that some drugs and medication are either safe or unsafe.
