Block4 Animal Testing Essay Animals Testing causes animals to become abused, vicious, and stressed out. Animal Testing wastes about $3 trillion on health care. The United States ranked forty-second in the world for life expectancy and infant mortality. The effects of the tests are not similar because animals are different than humans. Animal lives are being wasted because scientists still use Animal Testing even though they do new drug tests on humans. I believe that Animal Testing is wrong because animals are unreliable test subjects, also animals do not have a choice, and animals are not protected/treated fairly. Animals are unreliable resources for testing because the FDA has noted that 92% of all the drugs used in animal testing that have passed to be safe , but have failed on humans.

For example in “Flowers For Algernon” Algernon did not have a choice and that led to his death. Algernon was given tests and new drugs and that made him smarter, but at the same time his brain was deteriorating. Algernon did not want to take the drug , but he was forced to take the drugs and the tests. After that Algernon became vicious and did not want to eat, and he was acting different. In “Flowers For Algernon” it shows how much of a choice animals had in Animal Testing. 95% of animals used in experiments are not protected from the Animal Welfare Act. This states that animals can be experimented on only under certain circumstances, so that they won’t be abused or mistreated. Scientists didn’t follow the circumstances ,so this led to animals not being protected and mistreated. For example scientist inject drugs into an animal against their will. Also animals are not in their normal habitat, they are usually in a cage which stresses them out. To conclude animals are not protected and are not treated fairly by

Animal testing is wasteful, useless, and dangerous. The experiments that are done on these animals are gruesome. Bountiful amounts of people (about 62% in 2004 according to Heather Mason Kiefer) argue that animal testing is necessary in order to produce safe products. On the contrary, several studies have found these methods to be questionable. They lack accurate, safe results.…

The first reason why we shouldn’t have animal testing is because animals are getting hurt or abused. “Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year.” The chemicals that the people are using are burning or other worse things to them. Researchers have found out that 90% of drugs tested on animals that aren't harmful to them are to humans or don't have any affect on them.(Source 5). 90%! ,then why keep using animals? The testing on these poor animals is pointless! Scientist are just wasting money like it is nothing. If 90% of experiments are useless, then why are there over 100 MILLION experiments taking place in the U.S alone?(Source 5) Why is animal testing still a thing, people are just making innocent creatures suffer! If there is no valid reason to continue testing on animals, if it is only creating more deaths, then why do people still…

*95% of animals used for experiments are not protected by the Animal Welfare Act, the only act governing animal testing. Laws protecting animals need to include test animals used for experiments and these laws should be more strongly enforced. In order to minimize the number of animals used for testing and make sure they are not mistreated, the laws need to make it harder for researchers to use animals, making alternatives more appealing.…

In animal testing, countless animals are experimented on and then killed after their use is up. Some are injured and will still live the remainder of their life in captivity. The doctors will not do anything to help the animals that are in pain that happen to be the reason because of them. It is the aspect of animals testing that many view as a major negative against the practice, as it seems that the animal died in vain because no direct benefit to humans occurred. Even though animals and humans have many things in common like how we both have the same organ system, there are also many things that are different between animals and humans. Many animals cannot handle or take the same medication as humans, most the surgeries that are operated on animals are just too strong for an animal to take so they end up dying or sick for the rest of their lives. Animal testing has always been a big issue around the world. Some people think that it is okay for animals to be tested on while others don’t. What even is animal testing? Animal testing is where scientists find new medications and test them on the animals before humans. Why might scientists test them on animals first? So, that if something goes wrong, only the animal would suffer and not a human. I am a critic for animal testing. I believe that animals have a purpose to the world just as much as humans do. Even if people don’t like rodents, that doesn’t mean we need to try and potentially kill them. Animals are very important to this world just like everyone else.…

Animal testing has always been a dispute between people; some people think it’s morally wrong and some people think it helps with medical and scientific breakthroughs. Drugs that people use or cosmetics that are used could have been tested through animals before being stocked on shelves. About 800 animals are tested on before a drug is passed to clinical trials (“Is animal”). Many animals get tested on, but many like mice, rabbits, hamsters, monkeys, dogs, cats, pigs, and some other animals get tested on. Animals can be used to find new advances in medical treatment and check safety for products, but these animals that get tested on can go through pain and death. Animal testing is wrong and should be stopped because…

Animals everyday are suffering in laboratories because of animal testing. Animal testing is a horrible thing, even though it has lead to some medical breakthroughs. Although there better alternative options. If you weigh the pros and cons to animal testing it is clear that animal testing is wrong, even if there have been outcomes that have turned out well. Even though animal testing can help create cures, they have shorter life cycles, and sometimes finding cures for them, vitro testing, animals suffering, and the animals being extremely different from humans are all reasons why animal testing is a horrible thing.…
