I show outstanding character by being trustworthy, patient, and by helping others if they need help. If I say something will get done it will be done in a timely manner. For example, my dogs had to go out every one to two hours when they were being house broken so I made sure I took them out or asked to see if they were out recently. Another way that I show character in is MMA by being patient if someone does not understand something so they can get it or by trying to explain how to do it in a different way.
Scholarship takes hard work and dedication, and since
I've worked to the best of my ability, I've maintained high honors throughout middle school so far. Last year my lowest grade was a ninety-one in art, so this year I'm going to try harder to receive a better grade. Though art was my lowest grade I still did not like my English grade which was also an A-, so I have tried and am continue trying to do better and so far I have with the lowest report card grade for it being an A. I will do my best to maintain straight A's for the rest of this year and the next. I believe leadership is an opportunity some choose not to take advantage of, but whenever I can be a leader of anything I will. I love to work in group projects especially when I'm in charge because I know it will receive a good grade and will be done in the time given. The other reason I love to work in groups is because I can learn use their knowledge to expand my own. Another way I show leadership is by teaching the kids MMA class at the dojo I attend for an hour on Saturdays. I believe, I show citizenship because I try to make the school a better place for everyone, by helping others and by following the rules. When Mrs. Capen needed to take the gym equipment out of the closet due to a leak, Sarah and I offered our help to her after school so she would not have to do it all by herself. I do my best to follow the rules because I know they are in place to keep things organized and safe. I also know my actions do not only affect me, but also my family, friends, and on the school.
I try my best to get involved with and help people whether it be in school or out. In school I will do whatever needs to be done. For example, recently there was a leak in the gym’s closet, so Sarah and I helped take all the equipment out. Outside of school I take guitar lessons on Saturdays, On Sunday I go to Sunday school and to the youth group Sunday night, and I go to Awana on Friday nights and help out with the four to five year olds. Another example was when my aunt was on bedrest, I helped do chores around the house and entertained my cousin (her son). I did this so she did not have to worry about moving around too much trying to keep the house clean and making sure her son was not getting into anything. I would like to thank the committee for giving me this opportunity to show why I think I should be accepted into the Harold C. Duff Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. It is a great honor to even be considered, so once again thank you for your consideration.
