My Accomplishments

The top two things in which I excel most in is academic writing and meaningful volunteer service. Growing up, writing has always been a huge passion of mine and which I have developed and excelled in over the years. My freshman, sophomore, and senior year of high school I was the one who wrote the most in yearbooks while also editing and critiquing my classmates work. I also tutored and advised younger classmates in English and academic writing. In addition, I have written for Teen Ink magazine and plan to submit more work to other publishers. My biggest accomplishment however, is being accepted into the Student Conference of Language and Literature and having the opportunity to present my research paper on cheerleading being recognized as an official sport in the United States.
Volunteer service is another aspect in which I excel and wish to enculturate more in my life. A year ago, I went to Africa and visited villages and served those in need at an orphanage and school. This experience opened my eyes and I have a desire to go back after college and set up schools for women in villages where they can learn to be teachers and then educate the children in their towns. I am motivated and very goal driven. I am excited about my education here and learning how I can be a difference maker. I am very passionate about volunteer service and finding ways how to help those in need and making the community stronger. Because I have traveled and moved around quite a bit over my life, I have a very open mind and a diverse understanding of the world. I have strong leadership skills which have been displayed throughout my work place and school over the years. I love to teach and and motivate others. The Honors Program offered here at UNK is the best fit for me and I know that the program will help me to excel even more over the years leading up to
