I suffered abuse from someone I should have been able to trust as a result of our vulnerability. I love my job because it’s in my field—Law, and it also helps a lot of people every day. Everything I am learning today both professionally and academically will serve me well in the future. I am studying English at UAA because strong writing and critical thinking skills are extremely necessary in the legal field, but also because I enjoy English and have a natural knack for it.
I also dabble (quite passionately) in art, including graphic design and photography. I freelance on the rare occasion that I have the time, sometimes offering my services to businesses and causes that I believe in for free. Art is important because it helps train you to think outside of the box and look at the world in fresh, new ways. That is critical for anyone, in any field! As a result of my computer graphic skills, I also have a solid grasp of computer skills and even can create and edit webpages. I have even used my computer skills to build a crowdfunding campaign for a friend in need who felt overwhelmed trying to make one on their own.
