Get into a comfortable position...either reclining or lying down...and turn your focus inward...to your breathing. Breathe in deeply....hold it 3 or 4 seconds ... and then exhale slowly. Let your breath be deep and slow. Relax...and continue to relax... deeper and deeper... as you breathe in more...fresh, pure oxygen. Pure, clear oxygen is the KEY to vibrant vitality... Breathe in very fully... and notice yourself relaxing... more and more ...with each breath. Now... I want you to add counting to your breathing like this. Breathe in ...3...4...5...6. Hold...2...3...Breathe out...3...4...5....6.... Breathe in...3...4...5...6... Hold 2...3...Breathe out...3...4...5...6.... Breathe in ...3...4...5...6.... Hold...2...3... Breathe out...3...4...5....6.... Breathe in...3...4...5...6... Hold 2...3...Breathe out... 3...4...5...6.... Continue this breathing rhythm with the 6-3-6 count for at least ten times while I continue to talk to you. In fact, breathing deeply helps restore all the systems in your body... to their perfect condition. Oxygen is the fuel that helps your entire body run better. So drink in this life-sustaining oxygen...now...and relax... deeper and deeper.
Now...as you continue to focus on your breathing...I want you to notice a color of your choice...a vibrant healing color ...coming in through the top of your head as you inhale. Over the weekend I tried my best to take 5 minutes to myself to re-center and be present. Tonight I was having trouble winding down, so after my tea, I searched for “Nighttime Meditation” on youtube. I meditated for about six minutes until I started to drift into sleep. I enjoyed the meditation because for those few moments of the day, I was able to quiet my mind, relax, and become sleepy. I feel that guided meditation works best for me; listening to the soft spoken words of the man from the video really helps me to smash all the irrelevant thoughts going through my head and really focus on what was going on in that present moment. I also enjoyed the part of the meditation where the man was guiding me to feel my body parts, from my feet up to the tip of my head. At this point, feeling relaxed, aware, and present I began to doze off. Of course, my head told me “Hey! You’re dozing off!” … there I go thinking again, and I shut off the video and immediately fell asleep.…

I used the third sitting meditation position as figure C according to Jon Kabat-Zinn for my practice of mindfulness of breathing. At the beginning, it was hard to control moving of body even though I felt that I could control it. When my body-parts were able to be controlled, my thoughts about living things, or love ones, were flying back and forth in my mind. The interested things are that I felt I could catch my thoughts, and I knew that I was brought into another world. However, it was ended right after I tried to enjoy that world, and brought me to the present. Otherwise, after few times practicing, I felt I did not to enforce myself to adjust moving, to control my mind to the peaceful world; it just came in and came out as long as my breath in and out. All in all, I experienced a flat world, in which there is no noise, disorder, or competition but with peace, safe, and healthy.…
