First of all, the students would be getting out late from extra curricular. In other words, students would getting home later than expected. For example, band, athletes, clubs, & rotc would be getting out an hour later, band gets out at 8 which means they would
be getting out at 9. If the band would be getting out at 9, that means the other after school activities would be getting out later. Then students would holding back teachers so they can finish some work or whatever they need. This is important because teachers also things to do so does students, curfews are important for some parents.
Furthermore, parents would be delayed in their schedules. What I mean is that some students don’t go on the bus so their parents drop them off which make them late to work. For instance, my mom goes to work at 6 in the morning so she would be going late every day so she can bring me school. However, some kids have cars and they can themselves to school but some don’t have cars. As a result, parents would put their jobs at risk just us kids to get to school, they would need to change their schedule but get less money because the little kids can’t stay home by themselves.
In my opinion students would still be losing sleep. Everything would be the same just in a different hour. This shows that starting late would be a bad idea because having extra curriculars is getting home late and we would have our parents changing their schedule just for us not to lose education. Every student wants money and their parents losing their job is not a right. So we see that the pediatric doctors can also be wrong, and that we shouldn’t start school later than usually.
