Why School Should Start Later
RIIIIIIING!!! “Oh man, another Monday. Shouldn’t have stayed up until 3 last night. I wish I didn’t have such an early school day.” This is what you think to yourself after a stressful and tiring night of homework. Now, it is even worse as you are going to school on just a few hours of sleep. With these sort of problems coming from teens at this age, school starting times should start later. Teens are tired from school. They are exhausted by these early hours. Kids will be able to perform better in the classroom and they will also be mentally improved out of the classroom. Although some may not completely agree with this, it’ll help benefit kids in and out of school. With this, school starting times should start later.

This shows why schools should start later because teens will be able to get more rest and improve their grades in the classroom. Another quote, to add on, that supports this is when Achieve 3000 states, “Studies indicate that delaying school start times is a key factor in helping adolescents get the sleep they need.” These words show that delaying school times will really be a big factor when trying to improve sleep conditions for teens and adolescents. Moreover, since sleep conditions will be better for teens, it will make them better for the school day since they are able to get the sleep hours that are needed for a hard-working next day.
